About this driver

This is the UM-ONE driver for Microsoft® Windows® 7 32-bit Edition / 64-bit Edition.
System requirements

This driver has the following requirements.

Operating System
Microsoft® Windows® 7 32-bit Edition
Microsoft® Windows® 7 64-bit Edition
Computer
A computer with a USB connector that supports USB Specification Revision 1.1 or higher
*   This driver cannot be used in a virtual Windows environment, such as Windows XP Mode (Virtual Windows XP) or Virtual PC.
*   Macintosh computers running Microsoft Windows are not supported.
Caution when using the Windows 7 64-bit Edition

In order to use this product with the 64-bit Edition of Windows 7, please read and understand the following points. You must also take into account the compatibility of each product you will be using.

In order to use the 64-bit Edition of Windows 7, you must use 64-bit drivers; not only for this product, but also for all hardware you're using with your computer.
This driver has been tested on several computer systems, but please understand that we cannot guarantee it will operate on your particular computer.
Cautions and Limitations

Sound interruption or other less-than-perfect outcomes may be experienced if your computer's performance and specifications are somewhat inadequate. The types of applications you use and the way in which you use them can also influence the experience you receive.
On some computers, the driver does not load correctly if the UM-ONE is already connected when Windows is started up. As a result, it will not be possible to use the UM-ONE via USB. If this occurs, wait until after Windows has started to connect the UM-ONE.
If the UM-ONE does not work correctly after resuming from Sleep mode, you should exit all applications that use the UM-ONE, and then disconnect the USB cable of the UM-ONE and reconnect it.
If the USB cable is disconnected and reconnected while the UM-ONE is in use, it may stop operating correctly. If this occurs, after resuming, you should exit all applications that use the UM-ONE, and disconnect/reconnect the USB cable of the UM-ONE.
If your computer was experiencing a heavy processing load, such as when accessing a CD-ROM Drive or network while the UM-ONE was being used, the UM-ONE may no longer operate correctly. If this occurs, stop the playback or recording, then try starting playback or recording over again. If you are still unable to play back or record, quit all programs that are using the UM-ONE, then disconnect the USB cable of the UM-ONE and reconnect it.

UM-ONE MK2: CONNECTING TO A WINDOWS 10 COMPUTER
Back to Results

Tags: USB, UM-ONE MK2
Windows 10 has changed the way USB drivers are installed - in most cases the driver will now be installed automatically, so there is no need for the user to download and install a driver manually.

Because of this, you should just need to connect the UM-ONE MK2 to a USB port on a Windows 10 computer and the driver will be automatically installed (this can take 10-20 seconds).

There are a few things to be aware of:

The UM-ONE MK2 can connect to a computer in two different ways, depending on the setting of the small switch labelled "COMP" or "TAB."

COMP: This mode requires that a Roland driver be installed on your computer for the UM-ONE MK2 to connect. Using this option you can take advantage of Roland's FPT processing technology which provides for faster MIDI processing speeds.
TAB: This mode allows the UM-ONE MK2 to use the USB MIDI Driver that is built into your computer's operating system, and does not require that a Roland driver be installed. This mode is often called "Class Compliant."
Both of these options will work with Windows 10.

Once you have connect the UM-ONE MK2, the small LED labelled "USB" should light up indicating that the interface is receiving power and communicating with the computer.

You can also check on your computer to confirm that the UM-ONE MK2 is connected correctly - open the Device Manager and confirm that the UM-ONE MK2 is listed under "Sound, video, and game controllers."

Once the driver is installed and the USB light on the interface is lit, you should then be ready to use the UM-ONE MK2 with your music applications.
