upload the problem GR-55 patch, so others can explore.

I'm still not seeing that you are correctly feeding the GR-55
* external MIDi CC#23 message data 127 to turn the internal GR-55 Delay effect on
* external MIDi CC#23 message data 0 to turn the internal GR-55 Delay effect off.

all on on the same MIDI channel

I don't see a way to send the 127 or 0 from the switch dr. I don't think it can do that?
I did hook up an expression pedal via cc #23 and it allows me to turn the delay up or down and I even tried having the switch dr remember the pedals amount of up or down upon preset change. The gr55 still won't turn on the delay on switch dr preset 2. I will upload the patch asap. Thanks so much.

QuoteI even tried my old ground control midi pedal.

The Ground Control pedal should be able to accomplish this

* external MIDI CC#23 message data 127(0x7F) ( MIDI Channel_2)  to turn the internal GR-55 Delay effect on
* external MIDI CC#23 message data 0 (0x0) ( MIDI Channel_2) to turn the internal GR-55 Delay effect off.

A note to consider:
When the GR-55 receives program change and changes patch, it also sends a program change out of it's midi out port and USB port,
if your GR-55 is hooked up to a computer, sometimes the computer midi routing will send the patch change data back to the GR-55, causing a midi patch change feedback loop. (this can cause the GR-55 to either seem to lockup or patch change takes many seconds)
Try switching off the GR-55 P.C.-OUT, or change the GR-55 Midi TX to a different midi channel.

I loaded the patch in the floorboard editor. I then hit the (upload patch to v guitar forum). I am not sure if it uploaded or not though? What to do?

unfortunately I have to use the switch doctor as the ground control has no midi in for the other guitarist to piggy back my unit for remote changes to my rig.

Another point:
if the midi controller is sending and "on" value of less that 127 (F7), try setting the GR-55 assign ACT RANGE HIGH from 127 to 1, this will let it change 'on' to any value > 0.

Depending on if your midi pedal footswitch is 'toggling' (latched) or sending data momentary (on only while held down) will determine the GR-55 Source Mode setting of "toggle" or "moment"

I tried it without the usb cable plugged into the gr55 and the same issue. I also turned off the tx out.

The title "Upload Patch to VGuitars Forum" is a little ambiguous, it only opens the site in your browser,
you can attach the patch file in a topic thread (such as here "reply") by using the "attachments and other options" at the bottom of the screen in a new post.

Assign 1 and Assign 2 are fighting against each other,
you should only use one Target parameter at a time.

try this one attached..

From the DR Switch manual

QuoteThe MIDI Continuous Controller ON/OFF switches can now be configured to send ON
messages ONLY. When this mode is selected, an activated MIDI CC switch will only
send a value of 127. When the switch is set to OFF in a preset, no MIDI data is sent.
This can be useful for certain types of effect devices and when controlling the
functions of a delay/looper pedal.
Each CC switch group, CC.A and CC.B , can be independently set to either "normal"
type or "only-send-on" type.

"normal mode" I think is the way

Awesome! Thank you. It does toggle the delay correctly after your preset magic. The midi lag is still the same for some reason though. I am in no way complaining at all. I'm wondering if that is just the nature of midi and the gr55?

gumtown

It's the nature of the GR-55 to blip out on patch change,
but cc# control should be instant.

I disabled midi program change transmit that was being sent on the switch dr pedal 2 as it was sending a redundant midi pc message to the same preset user 10-2 on the gr55. I will just leave all preset midi outs on the midi pedal off except the initial preset 1 that tells the gr55 to go to the main 10-2 location on the gr55. Every button press of the main guitarists switch dr will only send a program change message to my midi pedal to change from 1-4 of my switch dr to basically mirror his changes. My switch dr will then only send out cc messages to the gr55. I will be re-programming  /  combining all my gr55 patches to 1 main preset and try to get the clean channel stuff inside it as well as the easier delay toggle on off thing you guided me through. Thanks a million

Midicity

I am almost able to do everything with one patch but would need to be able to toggle between MOD phaser / MOD octave / MOD flanger. I am utilizing one of the assigns for MFX pitch shifting to a 5th harmony. I need to see if it is possible to toggle as described with the one remaining assign I have left in the MASTER preset.

My setup is as follows at the moment:

1 Assign CC 23 = DELAY SWITCH
2 Assign CC 24 = AMP SWITCH
3 Assign CC 25 = CHORUS
4 Assign CC 26 = REVERB
5 Assign CC 27 = OCTAVE MOD SWITCH
6 Assign CC 28 = MFX PITCH
7 Assign CC 29 = MOD FLANGER??????? Can I access this?????
8 Assign CC 30 = MOD PHASER???????? Can I access this?????

gumtown

You can't change the MOD effect TYPE with Assigns,  :-\
if your pedal could do System Exclusive data then you could do it.

AH. Looks like a few presets with different assigns may be in need. Can I change any other assigns? I/E the mfx or another?

You can theoretically have like 6 different PCM voices in a patch. Two programmed up front, change to two others using assigns on the cntrl pedal switch, two others on the pedal swch. The pedal switch change will no doubt need to have listed the two changes on the cntrl pedal change and you will need to do them in order for it to work properly.
You also can opt for the various changes on the COSM section which are not as diverse as the COSM, using your GK1 and GK2 switches for more changes is possible as well, which could in theory and proper order of GK1 to GK2 expand to 10 different PCM voice changes in one patch.
(starting two patch PCMS- contrl pedal change to two others - two again fm pedal swtch, from the changed cntrl pedal ones - GK1 changing to 2 more from the pedal swtch - GK2 twp more from the GK1 changes = 10 - note each switch assign change takes two assign switches, owe for each new tone per switch using all 8 assigns for 10. )
I have not tried anything this extensive but in theory it should be possible.
So possibilities for multiple patch voicing changes is quite advanced really.
Seems the slight delay switching from one patch to another can be covered over via a brief pause or rest in the score. But the multiple assign switching per patch is the deal. You can also opt for slight param changes on different PCM selections as well.
