Track 2:

Track 1 is VG Strat into VG-99 with FC-300 into Boss RC-300 into Altec-Lansing ACS33 with beats produced by the internal beatbox on the RC-300.
Track 2 is the same instrumentation but beats are produced by the patches Asle put together some time back.

The event I played was an art-crawl that took place inside a large warehouse in Minneapolis where there were literally thousands of people involved.  There was a stage outside with bands and individual artists performing inside.  I was set up in the hall outside the GPS space at the Waterbury building and basically was trying to set a mood for people shopping for an enjoying the art.  I had to rev up the mood a but since the 2nd and 3rd band outside were pop-punk acts (a weird choice for this kind of venue) and with the doors open I had to compete.  Still, a lot of the pieces were 8-10 minutes long but controlling all this stuff sure didn't feel that long.

All in all, enjoyable except the woman who set her large knitting bag down on the powerstrip that was feeding my stuff and made my entire rig go dead about 10 minutes before I ended my set.  Basically, I did very little ambient music and a lot more instrumental rock.  Here are two of the more relaxed modes.  Interestingly, the sound quality of the loops dubbed to the 300 and transferred to my daw in my iMac were terrific.

Once again, clean, professional.  I'm humbled listening to your stuff!

These remind me strongly of the atmospheric passages on "The First Day", or "Gone to Earth".

Yes, I have no issues with any of the paths out of the RC300.  It's always clean.
Address the process rather than the outcome.  Then, the outcome becomes more likely.   - Fripp

I just finished listening to Absolute Territory for the third time and I'm just blown away Todd. Beautiful beautiful stuff and a looping/synth tutorial in the bargain!

Thanks all!  If anyone has any questions about programming, patches or how I do this sort of thing it feel free and ask!

I have. I am currently listening to all my late followed artists on SC, which includes you.

Absolute territory features gorgeous sounds I wish I knew how you did them...
Like the lush acoustic + string machine like sounds on both "Absolute" and "clouds of crowds".

I am also interested to know how you produced your "filtered guitar noise beats"...

great job, Todd- they all sound great!  However, be careful with "almost bass solos" in a live setting- or else members of the audience will almost leave to go to the bathroom.... :)  (yeah, I'm referencing the old "bass solo" joke, not insulting Todd's musicality...)

Well the filtered guitar noise beats are courtesy of our very own Asle Helseth (rolandvg99) here on this forum!

His patches for drums are here:

I usually use the HD Hi-Hat and I will sometimes use the full-set and some of the groovy drums although drums in "absolute territory" were from RC-300:

All of the synth pad sounds I do on VG-99 are done using the polyphonic pitch transposer as an effect with other filtering and effects - see all the patches I uploaded here:
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?board=31.0

And some of them here:

I keep thinking I should do a programming tutorial.  Sometimes the result achieved isn't what you would expect!

I did a "single version" edited from the full 10 minute version of "absolute territory" for those with short attention spans:

Just in celebration of tomorrow being the 36th anniversary of me playing guitar.
