Here's the patch I set up for a Shadows tyoe echo, a Meazzi emulation in head spacing only.
It utilises a classic strat and I started to develop the GK buttons so as to select pick-ups but haven't finished it yet, any help but be greatly appreciated.
It's a good patch for Wonderful Land, Peace Pipe etc but wrong for Apache, Frightened City and the tunes before Wonderful Land.

Here's the Apache echo.
Remember to listen in mono, stereo wizzes the echoes all over the place.
The head timings are 124,426 and 599msec with feedback taken from 599.

Ecca:

Thanks for these patches.  I'm an old Shadows fan, and I'm looking forward to trying them.

I'm also impressed with your Beatles posts.  It's hard to nail their vocal harmonies, and yours are very well done !

I have tried these patches.  thanks to Ecca,  they are really good.
How do you you find out the parameters used by Hank?  Is it described somewhere on the web?
As for the Apache patch, what other Shadows song will use this ?
I used the other one for most other songs, such as Theme for Young Lover, Sleep Walk and Midnight and they sounds quite close to me.  Thanks again!

Hi Psrisck (!)
I've put a more detailed explanation of my interest in these echoes in the original https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=5086.0 thread.
There are some excellent sites for Shadows fans and I'm a member of most of them,   http://shadowmusic.bdme.co.uk/index.php  and for specific echo details [url=http://charliehall.proboards.com/index.cgi]]http://charliehall.proboards.com/index.cgi]
The 2 echo patches that I've put up are suitable for most things really. The Apache patch for everything up to Wonderful Land  and the Peace Pipe patch for most else. In fact it wasn't that simple, there was a lot of messing about for example; the echo in the Savage is the same pattern of repeats but the emphasis was on a different head, listen to the ending.
Cheers,
Ecca ;D

Thanks very much Eric!
One more question:
I saw the Shadows DVD and loks like Hank always has his Strat pickup ar the bridge position, but when I tried it, it is too much treble.  what is the secret, the tone pot?

As far as I know Hank has tried many things with his guitars and none of them will be a standard guitar.
He does favour the bridge pick-up but he  also uses a variety of amps over the years and they all behave differently I think.
He must be bored out of his skull playing Apache .
Cheers

Take a look here, you'll get definitive answers to everything Shadows wise.

http://shadowmusic.bdme.co.uk/index.php

PPS  Incidentally, if you really really want to get the echoes correct then go to   http://www.echotapper.nl/wp/

Here you can download, free, all the echoes ever used by the Shadows on any machine. It's a VST .dll file to be incorporated into recording software like Cubase etc. You can then use this software ( most of it anyway, ) to play live through your computer and out into your amp thus emulating the echoes. On the net you'll find the setting for every Shadows tune ever played.

With regard to how trebly is your guitar........
It's a strange do sometimes.
I have 2 strats that I put together myself, one Ash bodied and the other Alder.
The ash guitar is very treble whatever pickups are on it. At first I put Fender CS54s on but it took your head off it was so trebly and nothing I did tamed it, I raised them, lowered them and fitted capacitors.  I swapped them for Tonerider vintage which improved it and now the guitar has Kinmans which is better still.
The Alder strat has Toneriders and , bottom line is a much more mellow guitar than the Ash, treble has never been a problem.
So, it's a funny do..................

Mine is a Fender 1984. 62 re-issue, sounds pretty good, just can't get a good Shadows sound if it is on bridge pickup, too sharp on the tone, good for boogie-woogie or shaking it over kind of sound though.

ecca

I presume you've done all the normal checks like pick-up height etc ?
