Hello Gents,
You may have seen one or two videos of my improv bands before .. We just played last Saturday and I'm just posting the videos.

Here are some technical details of what you are seeing and hearing:

I am using a Parker Fly guitar that has had all of its internal guts removed - there is just a GK-3 pickup which is driving a GR-55 as my only source of sound for both modeled guitars and synthesized sounds.  I have an iPad that has an app I set up which allows me to instantly select from any of 80 or 90 presets on the GR-55. Since our music is improvised, this is key for me since I don't know what instrument or guitar tone I might want at any time. You will see me poking on the iPad in the videos when I'm selecting sounds.

Hope you enjoy them, this is a great group of musicians and we had a ball playing it.

Some great grooves and playing there! Love the Harmonica solo on Slip Town :) GR55 sounds great - some real nice crunch/edge strat tones. They are all great players but also you. I'd love to have a go at this kind of thing locally with that calibre of musicians - looks a blast.

How do you rate the Parker btw?Cool looking thing.

Gotta just say tho, come on now - Youtube description is a tad misleading - if that's entirely improvised you must be proper mind readers for all the syncopated runs and obvious basic song structures lol! (like Sliptown for example)

You are correct - for some of the songs we have very loose chord frameworks or a little melody (sliptown). I have different players and it's interesting to see how the same framework leads completely different places with just one alternate player.

However several of the jams I've posted were true improv with no plan. The St. Groovatine's march and Requiem were both made up on the spot. Even They might be yours was only known to Quinn the bass player and it had been 3 years since we played it.

I've been using Parkers since they came out in the 90's. This particular one is optimized for GR-55 and is truly light as a feather (no pickups or electronics!). They play beautifully and the whammy is excellent.

Thanks for the kind words!

I used hole plugs from Lowe's and painted them to match the white of the body. I am working with an engineering student at a local college to design and 3D print plugs for the holes where the mag pickups went.
