Anyone out there figure out how to achieve this sound with the GR55 alone, or perhaps a combination of GR55/Amp/Pedals ?

The crim heads out there will know what sound I'm referring to. The song Thrak would be the prime example of this. Basically a distorted guitar sound, with a hint of clipping I think, and a dash of low end in there maybe from a harmonizer, perhaps mixing a synth pcm tone.

From what I've researched,  the Roland GP-100 is responsible for this sound.

I,ve experimented with the following settings so far:

Clean amp model, mid gain
Octave barely in there, just enough to give that low end
Pitch shifer detune max level
Chorus

ConstruKction

I've been trying to do achieve that with my VG-99, and the closest I managed to get is insanely thick fuzz with massive chorus and slightly detuned guitar. I didn't really think about tweaking the virtual amp, should check it out soon.

Gotta say, though, that's one killer tone I wish I had treasured in my VG.

made some progress on the thrak sound. ended up feeding the 55 into my amp to add a 2nd distortion. makes it really dirty sounding.
did a thrak cover to go along with it, all performed on a vdrum kit and the gr55.
