I have only seen that happen if the programs graphics folder is missing,
you didn't copy just the 'app' from the folder and place it elsewhere?
It requires the other files that come with it to run, if you want to move the program, you have to move the whole folder.

Normally, I would now say "I'm an idiot!", but the fact is, every other OS X app I know of was installed that way.
You're right, of course fixed!
1. Thanks for the very quick reply.
2. I will definitely make a donation, as I did to the forum. I always donate to useful things.

Did I not read something? I don't see it in the README. Unless it's mentioned somewhere, I recommend adding to README or somewhere obvious. I may have been so excited to try it (installed before I even had the GR-55) I did miss a warning.
Looking forward to messing with it.

Recently tried to use the Librarian and then thought I'd give the Floorboard a go. The answer to my question is probably ridiculously obvious but after looking through the Help PDF I haven't been able to figure it out. I selected User, Bank 1 and highlighted the first instrument patch (Heavy Pdlbend). I then played that sound.  I then opened up using "Load Patch file" a patch I downloaded from the forum (Oud). The Oud sound appeared in the upper left of the Floorboard and I was able to preview the patch. But Heavy Pdlbend still appear in the tree as User, Bank 1 instrument 1. What are the next steps to actually load the patch permanently into User Bank 1 Instrument 1 on the GR-55? Is it just a matter of clicking the "Write" button next?

You've got it Frum. Use the write button. You can pick the destination that you want to store the patch too.
The patch copy and patch paste clipboards at the bottom allow you to hang on to temporary versions of patches for comparison while you're editing.

As long as you use the librarian to store a backup of all of your patches, you can always get back to where you started if overwrite something by mistake.

Where do I report problems with the wonderful GR55Floorboard? It happens that I see a problem when doing a merging type operation and I'd like to communicate it. I'm posting in this old thread because the problem is with Bulk Write.

What specific issues do you have with GR-55FloorBoard?

I tested it on my Macbook Pro and all right.
I have a Dell Notebook with Windows 10 too.
Communication is OK and the patches are recognized by Floorboard.

When I double click to select a bank patch GR-55 Floorboard crashes.

This happens on USB cable or USB to midi cable.

Can anybody help me

There are remaining problems with USB 3.0 ports on most Windows Laptops/ Notebooks /Tablet PCs
( i.e. A Windows PC with a flawless working USB 3.0 port for Audio /MIDI Interfaces  is rare  )
Always setup Roland /Boss gear and MIDI USB cable on a USB 2.0 port when available

Hello Guys,

Rather than opening a new thread : I found this old topic about the same problem I currently have with Floorboard version 20150929, running on Ubuntu 16.04 32bits : I can connect to GR55, read patch, modify it on floorboard, but it can't be saved back in the GR55. I've let a snapshoot attached : very bottom left, see message RETRYING DATA REQUEST, it fails, try again, and so on...
Hope you Gumtown can identify the issue and find a fix.
My second machine is running 64bits ubuntu : I didn't find the time to try and see if the same problem occurs.

Sorry 'cause my first message here is about reporting an isssue !
Cheers

Just a quick question on the Linux,
Are you using a 5 pin USB-Midi device adapter or running the GR-55 direct with  the USB cable?

EDIT Hi Gumtown
Nice to see you handle it.
GR-55 & USB direct.

Your question makes me realize that direct USB câble may probably not been the solution... Well according to other members messages like Jim Williams https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=3869.msg26173#msg26173 It seems I'll need to buy a usb midi cable, a cheap one likes this one  https://www.thomann.de/gb/terrasoniq_midi_one.htm   ?  or for more   https://www.thomann.de/gb/roland_um_one_mkii.htm

I guess you will confirm
cheers

EDIT 2
I just get this ... Okay, clear to me now

I have now updated the Linux versions of the software, as there was an issue with the midi system.
If you have a very recent version of Linux, the GR-55 can work direct to USB, without the need for a USB-Midi device adapter.

I may be wrong, but I'm sure the last time I used the editor that when I selected a patch the GR55 would switch to that patch and show the patch I am Editting in the display.  Should the display update as I select patches in the editor?

A single mouse click on the patch (left panel list) will only change the GR-55 patch (issue patch change), and a 'double click' will do the same patch change, but also load in the patch data from that selected patch.

It is like that because if you want to write a new patch back into the GR-55, a destination patch address needs to be selected for the editor to write to the GR-55, and a single mouse click on the patch number does just that. If it were to load in that selected patch, then the current edited one would be lost and replaced with the GR-55 selected one.

FloorBoard is an amazing editor and Thank You!!!!!!

Now that I've grown to love it I can barely do without it.

I am currently getting a C++ Runtime error closing Floorboard down after I've been using it everyday for over 2 weeks. This is really distressing me.

I have Microsoft C++ 10 i86 and 64 installed on my Windows 7 machine but when I start up Floorboard it crashes. Here is what's crashing I think   Fault Module Name:   libstdc++-6.dll

Please help. How can I get Floorboard back up and running?

Solve my own problem I installed Midi Hub
https://www.humatic.de/htools/touchdaw/download.htm

and I believe it was taking the resources from the gr. After I uninstalled MidiHub I am now very happy....

Again Thank you for GR-55 FloorBoard Editor. It's fantastic. I also saw the apk for the Android... Yikes... how does that work? Will midi be setup for it? or just USB Midi?

Would also make a great controller to select Patches

gumtown

The android version is only an experimental preview, it does not support any midi or USB.

Long time no see...
I'm trying to re-arrange the order of patch groups after a lot of work on patches, to put them in rough set order. Since the number isn't huge, I keep them in groups of three for each tune.

When I grab 3 patches, say 90-1, 90-2, 90-3 they are saved, no trouble.

When I then do "Load bulk patch file to GR-55", and send them to say, 80-1,2,3 only the last two are copied.
I just tried saving the first 60 patches, and the same thing happens, I have to start one before to get all three.

Is it possible to use Floorboard & a DAW at the same time?

Hello, Thanks for this super software!

This is my first day on VGuitars so please speak up if I'm asking this question in the wrong place. 
I'm considering purchasing a GR-55 and I would like to know if the Floorboard Editor will work at the same time I'm using my DAW Reaper and have an Audio Track selected in Reaper with the Audio Input coming from the GR-55. It seems to me there are two possible options but I'm guessing. One idea is that it would work just using a standard USB Cable and the other idea is to use both a USB cable and a 1/4"TRS coming out of the GR-55 into my Focusrite i2i USB Interface. I was thinking that when I wanted to change a patch I could Minimize Reaper and use Floorboard.

Windows 10 64 Bit – GR-55 – Reaper DAW – Focusrite i2i Audio Interface with no MIDI connections

gumtown

Welcome to VGuitars,
Yes you can use both concurrently, the USB audio and USB midi work independently in the GR-55.
But the midi can only be used by one application/program at one time.

There is a work around if you do want to use midi on both programs at the same time, is to have one use the GR-55 USB midi, and the other use an external USB/Midi adapter.
The GR-55 is capable of running the USB midi and 5 pin midi ports independent of each other at the same time.

Kokopelli

WOW! Floorboard will let you control the GR-55 even when using a DAW. I probably won't use Floorboard if only using the GR-55 as a MIDI Controller but like you said you can even do that if you want to setup using the workaround option.
Thank You

Hello Gumtown and folks

I finally get a MIDI to USB adaptator : a Midiman M-Audio Uno for which one there are linux "drivers". It seems to run (reading and writing patches) but suddenly Flooboard crash.

Attached is the log when I launch Floorboard in terminal, I hope it helps to find what's wrong.

Other thing for you Gumtown : last build of linux 32bits Flooboard allows reading/loading patch while connected per direct USB wire, but fails to write/overwrite patch.
