is there any way I can import patches from gr 33 or other synths?

and.... aside of the patch exchanges which is amazing... any link for patch download?

I am interested in normal instruments (flute, trumpet, rhodes, etc etc etc)

thanks!

Don t think there is any way to import those old gr33 patches.  You can audit the settings and try to duplicate them.

The sy300 isn't a pcm sample based synth like the gr33.  It's a completely different approach.

thank you...

maybe you can advice me and I am going to repost this on a general page..

I play classic guitar, nylon string, I travel insanely. I am trying to find the best "nomad set up". my solution so far was:

get the boss sy300 and travel without the guitar.. buy an amplified (or travel with a piezo) classic guitar at any flea market and voila..

i just discovered thanks to this forum about the tripleplay and its app...

or even the tonewood app connected to phone or ipad midi apps....

I am a little bit confused..

my goal is to travel light and have a midi system that can allow me to play and perform solo, the system should have decent sounds (or easy to add patches..) and a good and fast polyphonic response....

help and advices are very much appreciated!!

I would recommend jamorigin MidiGuitar either on iPad or MacBook along with the software synths you would like to use and a travel guitar of your choice.

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

I play classic guitar, nylon string,
This will limit your options, any GK setup will not work, requiring steel strings to operate the magnetic pickups.
This includes the Fishman Triple play system.
Only a GK 13pin piezo hexaphonic pickup system will work on a nylon acoustic for Roland GK PCM synth sounds.

The SY-300 does not play 'PCM instrument sampled' sounds, it is more like a 1970's style analog synth type of sounds.

Nylon acoustic with pickup, and the Jamorigin app on an iPad or PC/Mac laptop would be the way to go as recommended by Brak(e)man.

According to unfretted.com theres a nylon string set with a metal core that works with gk.

Many ask if they can install a GK-3 hex PU on a Nylon String Classical guitar

Thomastik-Infeld KR116 strings work  - these are strings that can be installed on a Classical Guitar and also works with all magnetic pickups

QuoteQuestion: can these strings be used with a magnetic pickup?
Yes they can. The strings have a steel rope core. I believe there is a jazz player who uses these on his electric guitar. These strings have great timbral consistency from low to high. Usually there is a stark difference between the d and g, not so much with these strings.

Hurdle is the string spacing of most Classic guitars is much wider than the FTP or GK-3 pickup

Or consider a laptop running Jam Origin MIDI Guitar
