Hello everybody,

Do you know if it is possible and how to assign MIDI messages to a footswitch?

I would like to switch on/off a sound on MainStage controlled through USB midi connection from GP10.

I know that a workaround would be to hook a midi pedalboard to my computer, but I am looking for a smarter solution where I need to bring less gear...

Using GP10 with sound on computer is great because the sound goes back to the GP10 since it works as an audio interface. No need to plug an external audio output device to the computer. Just connect the GP10 audio output and get all the sounds in one place!!

Thank you in advance!!

The GP-10 has no assignable midi output functions for the footswitch/pedals.
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

Very true.

The GP-10 does send a fixed message on a patch-change event. Depending on the software you're working with, you might be able to switch to a given GP-10 patch to turn on the MainStage sound, then switch to another GP-10 patch to turn-off that sound.

Not ideal, but perhaps workable.

And the foot pedal sends out cc midi messages when guitar to midi is switched on. But it does that all the time...
