Hello, maybe this has already been discussed but - if I want to conect the GP-10 to a stand-alone sound module - how would I do this? The USB cable is type B male at the GP-10 end but type A male at the other - but most sound modules have a type B (female) port - or is there another solution - would a simple USB A Female to B Male Adapter work?

                                      Thanks for any help/advice

You add the missing 5 pin MIDI I/O like this:

A: Get a Raspberry Pi single board computer + USB MIDI Cable

or

B: Order the Promova MIDX-10 due to ship soon from Codesmart here

Or

C: Use a WIndows PC and MIDI Yoke app or Mac with OSX Audio MIDI Manager and a USB MIDI Cable.

Probably been discussed before.
Any way to get the Rocktron to switch patches on the GP-10?
Thanks

Need a third party USB Host to MIDI converter that is compatible with Boss GP-10

I know of two

* PrimovaSound MIDX-10

* Raspberry pi Single board computer+ USB <> MIDI cable

as mentioned in the

Next typical question is  -

Why cant i just use a MIDI Foot controller with a USB connection?

Because all MIDi foot controllers I know ( as well as the Boss GP-10)  are USB Client (EndPoint) devices

Requires One device to act as USB HOST Device - and those are typically computers
http://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/49140/what-exactly-are-the-difference-between-a-usb-host-and-device

The host initiates all communication on the bus, the device only responds when asked by the host. For Details see the specs on usb.org.
