Lead tone for Room 335

FileType: mid

Keywords: 70s Larry Carlton Jazz Fusion

How I stumbled into this was I was messing around on my VG as I usually do and remembered meeting one of my guitar playing associates here in town who told me he recently sold his Mesa Mark V system because he said he'd found the ultimate amp for playing fusion jazz and it was a Marshall head - not a JCM800 - I can't recall the model.  So I started messing about with the 335 model with various Marshall amps and came up with this.  It would be usable for any 70s jazz fusion type music (there's a ton of it out there with cool guitar tones and whatnot).   I think I ended up trying a Mesa model with this before and this seemed much more suitable - the Mesa was too "fruity" and gainy - here you can actually back off on the GK volume to clean up the sound.

This doesn't have a whole lot of presence or overt treble or even effects, it's more subtle.  "Season to taste".    The backing track came from the folks at JamTrackCentral.com.

Fat and creamy, almost dripping. Sound captured beautifully.  :)
To V or not to V: That is the question.
