Re String Ground wire - on a Jackson Dinky with Floys Rose Tremolo , this will be a wire soldered onto the back tremolo spring claw  - use a ohm meter and verify "0 ohms when measuring between the strings and the 1/4" output jack

Quoteyou mean touching the 24frets (highest fret) to see whether it has the 1mm clearance?

yes

On the  GR-55, use the GK Settings and be sure it is set properly

GK TYPE = GK-3

To compensate for the GK Hex PU height mismatch and glance all strings ,  re-adjust the "GK String Sensitivity" for each string, using your highest anticipated "pluck / pick / plectrum" deflection when picking each string

Also the GR-55 may be noisy when rendering acoustic guitars, there is a parameter called "N.S" (Noise Supressor) when properly adjusted can minimize the background hiss

All above concepts are in GK-3, and GR-55 owners manuals (PDF) , search on the terms in Adobe Acrobat

Also a Peavey Vypyr VIP amp is not the cleanest amp in regards to noise , hiss, distortion -

Most folks when recording the GR-55 acoustic  guitars follow the GR-55 documentation and install the Roland GR-55 USB Audio/MIDI driver and use a USB cable to connect the GR-55 to their computer and record direct into their DAW while monitoring on headphones directly connected to the GR-55

The GR-55 functions as the computer "Audio Interface" in their DAW software ( Cubase, Sonar, Reaper, Protools, etc )

Thanks a lot
The noise is gone now
but may I know what is the best range for the sensitivity?
