Here is a link to a developers site who is registering beta testers for his low latency polyphonic guitar-to-midi software for mac, windows and IOS.

OK! This is the future. It is not ready yet. But the playfeel is absolutely superb! And no false triggers either
The future is: a guitarplayer and  a computing device.
This is really an important step.

If so, then I am traveling backwards through time.  Guitar + PC, period, was my rig about 4 years ago.  Now I'm back to hardware with the GR55 and KPA.  I'll check out this software, though; maybe it's time to go "back to the future".

It is not perfect: there's ofcourse a bigger latency because of the computers audiobuffer size, and secondly pitchbend is not supported (yet).
But the playfeel is just wunderfull. I put the guitar in the hands of one of my students, a 8 year old boy.. He could play saxophone without any problem.
So, no, it is not a competitor for GR-55 in a live situation, but for midi Studio work it beats all other systems I know off.
Piano playing is really, really nice with the "MIDI guitar". thats where pitchbend isnt missed anyway..
Setting up Midi guitar is really deadeasy, there is no comparing with any other convertor there.. "Midi guitar" is the best in userfriendliness.
I've bought it rightaway, to support the product. i'm convinced of it.

I have had the IOS version for a while.

I signed up for the beta - but all I get is circular links (beta is now released) with no actual URL download link

EDIT

OK I just received an email with download links for the beta release

I tried it and for what it is it is amazing. Don't expect too much but I'm sure this tech will develop into something very useful. it has some latency and tracking issues but with some tweaking I got some useful sounds. it works as a midi input for soft-synths in a host/DAW and worked great for strings and pads. It updated about 20 minutes after I downloaded it. Not something I would use all the time but it is worth buying.

I've been beta testing it for several weeks now and it really does get better with each release although you do have to tweak the settings a bit to get more acceptable tracking. The developer is taking feature requests over on the KVR forum so if you have anything you'd like to see added to it just let him know.
