FTP - New user having software problem

hi, I just received my FTP today.
D'loaded and installed software on a Toshiba running win7 with 4 gig ram and a quad core Intel I5.
While running TP software 1st time, (it was scanning and loading the other software, kontact, sample tank, etc) when I got blue screen of death. After a reboot and 2nd try it did same thing.
HELP please?
