Parker has a GK equipped Fly Mojo, but the price is really high (even for a Parker!).

Too rich for my blood. I like the Dragon Fly DF 824. In a few years when more used ones start popping up I may spring for one and install a GK....but new the prices are out of sight!

IMHO, if you like Parker then just get a used but good Fly. You will pay anywhere between 1K to 2K depending on what you choose and then get a luthier to install the GK-3 for you. You'll get the same deal for about 1/2 price.

MaxTwang

The used prices on Parkers make the new ones a bad investment (the Belew and Vernon Reid Flys are really outrageously expensive!).

For now I'll stick with my Roland G-303 and Jones BX-13-VX to connect to 13-pin.

I see my guitar is mentioned here (pictured in my avatar too)
Frameworks make some amazing instruments & have guitarists like JOHN McLAUGHLIN · CARLINHOS BROWN · CHICO CÉSAR · PINO DANIELE · HELIO DELMIRO ·GILBERTO GIL ·  JOYCE · MICHAEL JEUP · MICHAEL LANGER · LENINE · ROBERTO MENESCAL · PAT METHENY · SWAMI JR · PEDRO TAGLIANI · RALPH TOWNER as their customers so I'm in some pretty amazing company.

The modern classic model I have is the finest instrument I've ever played & I cant wait for my GR-55 to arrive so I can really explore the built in RMC pick up.

I seem to be the only guy on this forum with such an instrument so I'd just like to recommend you try one, they aren't cheap & can only be purchased to order from Germany but once you do you wont want to play another electro nylon.

I had a look at the website, and that is one nice looking, and innovative, guitar!!

My mind is tossing and turning as to whether to ask what they are worth, as I'm sure it would give the wife a heart attack ;)

Cheers

You could always go for the cheaper Aria AS-100C/SPL. :)
Not Roland-Ready though.

Some of you have mentioned how the Parker GK ready guitar are too expensive... I custom ordered mine direct with US Corp in the states, it took almost a year to get the guitar but I paid nowhere near the prices I see on sweetwater or the likes. and mine has the pick ups I wanted not what comes out of standard seymour duncans bag.

In the end I ended up with a Fly Mojo Midi, but the wiring config is different as are the pick ups and config. to get 4 voicing out of one guitar mag-Piezo-VG99-GR33 synth (Using my US-20) it's hard to beat.

Pretty sure I have the only one in pearl white in the world too... paid $2600USD August 2010.

most of my other guitars are gathering dust since the parker landed here  ;) http://s1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff469/fredr1afsc/Parker%20Fly%20Mojo%20Midi%20Pearl%20White%202011/

Glad to hear from another Parker fan. I love my Parker GK installed guitar but wish Parker would have installed the GK pickup upside down and the buttons a little more stealthy... Perhaps a custom job is in order for me as well along the way.

Kevin M

So....you can get both mag + piezo in addition to GK output at the same time on your custom Parker?  That was something I was disappointed to learn I couldn't get on mine.

fbwh

Yes I run my Mags to my black star artisan valve amp and the piezo to the AER domino (stereo split 1/4 jack cable) and the gk is feeding the us-20 and in turn the gr and vg to 2 AER doms.

I understand that was not always available on parker fly midi, something to do with an extra switch, although i was told it can be configured any which way when it comes to custom guitars.

well worth the email to Terry Atkins at US Corp Chicago.

Robert Fripp Slim
https://www.crimsonguitars.com/robert-fripp-hollow-standard/
We are incredibly proud to build Robert Fripps signature guitar.  Where we differ from most guitar builders who are associated with such a luminary of the music world is that we very rarely build the same thing twice, even Roberts personal instruments have varied in spec over the years with the current version set to include the Ghost piezo and MIDI system built into a custom tremolo that we build in house at Crimson Guitars.  Instead we use the as many of Roberts spec choices as our clients want and build them into a frame that is utterly bespoke, the neck shape, number of frets, type of hardware and electronics and even materials used are all customisable.

The body style tends to stay firmly in the Les Paul arena but even here there are changes made to accommodate different numbers of frets and the physique of the client.  Roberts personal choice is the Hollowbody, a completely hollow Les Paul type guitar built along the lines of a traditional acoustic but keeping the carved top and feel he has grown used to in his long career, The second basic option we work from is a more modern ergonomic design with complete access to all the frets and a carved body to make for a supremely comfortable guitar that seems to fit like you were born with it.

That Fripp model is lovely and there are even more impressive ones with a vined neck at the website.  Wow!

Check out this one:

And this one:

The RF Slim above is amazing!  I don't even want to hazard a guess at price (or wait time) on something like that.

aliensporebomb

The price on the two guitars in stock is about what I'd expect - the Fripp ones would probably be more due to the unbelievable woodwork contouring (the Fripp vine model and the Fripp Slim blue are totally to die for and the custom hollow gloss black with binding is a stunner too) with the hex electronics and piezo outs would probably be more.  I'm guessing.

Very nice looking guitars indeed but small details like the battery hatch on the back make me want to gouge my eyes! Why on earth would you put in all the hours and build that masterpiece only to plant it with an eye sore of a wart like that... Go figure.

Probably done that way due to Mr Fripp's preference for a fresh 9V Battery to be installed prior to every show. The cheap looking battery box actually is a speed loader type that many roady's prefer, since it allows battery changes in under 10 seconds.

aliensporebomb

That's exactly it - the back of my Heartfield EX-2 has one of these time saving battery doors:

It's much less of a pain than unscrewing 8 phllips head screws just to change a battery.

And it would be terrible if it had been on the front:

Crimson can mount the battery inside, if you prefer - no problem.  These four go UNDER the wireless MIDI transmitter for the pad controller :)
