Fender Roland Ready/GR-55 question

I just purchased a used Fender Roland-Ready strat (with on-board GK pickup and controls) and a Roland GR-55. I have connected the guitar to the GR-55 with the 13-pin cable, and a jack cable from the mono output straight to a mixer/headphones.  When I set the strat's 3-way GK mode selector switch to "guitar", there is no sound at all, and the "mix" position sounds exactly like the "GK" position, i.e. there is no sound from the regular pickups.  Is this normal? Isn't the 13-pin cable supposed to also carry the clean guitar signal?  Or do you have to use an extra output cable from the GR-55s separate guitar output to be able to mix the GK/GR sounds with the guitar's regular pickups?

Hi there, I'm having the same problem, but the link to the other topic shows this message "An Error Has Occurred!
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you." So it seems to be missing.  ???

Check the settings in the gr55. There are 4 audio sources....2 midi synth sounds, the modeled guitar hex pickup, and lastly the normal guitar pickups. Each has a volume and on/off setting. The normal guitar may be set to "off" in that particular preset.
Also make sure the guitars normal pickup volume knob is turned up too...
