my son are having problems installing drivers on windows, I'm a Mac man
so I can't help him, anyone ?

------------

I cannot install the GT-1 driver without windows blocking it due to need for digital signature.

I get this pop up window when trying to install:

Here is the text translate into English:

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and downloaded the drivers from BOSS' official website here: https://www.boss.info/global/support/by_product/gt-1/updates_drivers/

I downloaded "GT-1 Driver Ver.1.0.0 for Windows"

Whenever I try to install the driver I get to the point where it wants me to plug in the GT-1 to a usb port and then I get the pop up window about digital signature.

http://ccm.net/faq/3914-how-to-install-unsigned-drivers-on-windows-7

QuoteBy default, Windows 7 automatically blocks users from installing unsigned drivers to the system. Although intended to be an added security feature, this setting makes devices or peripherals that you'd like to connect to your computer completely useless.

In order to proceed with the installation of an unsigned driver, you must first disable a driver's signature verification. This article will teach you how.
Install Unsigned Drivers on Windows 7

Before beginning, please note that we recommended that you enable the signature verification of drivers. Please proceed at your own risk.

Go to Start > Run, and type bcdedit /set nointegritychecks ON. If the Run command is unavailable in the Start menu, please refer to this FAQ.

Now, restart your PC and try to install the unsigned driver. To do this, head to Start > Run and type bcdedit /set nointegritychecks OFF.

Restart your PC. The driver should be properly installed upon reboot.

Thanx

It didn't work , the same error occurred.
(The only thing he didn't do was updating the firmware to the latest)
A workaround starting up windows everytime with F8 and disableing the security check for all drivers ( certificate ) works but it's not very satisfactory.
Also he can't download adobe air to be able to install BTS

What's the issue with boss and windows?
I have drivers and BTS on my MacBook , no problemas.

Any other suggestions ?

I don't think they can help
The few times I've called them
I had to help them
I'm no newbie to computers
but I've worked with Mac all my life
in audio never windows.
I've installed all on my MacBooks , no problem.

My son knows windows and it seems that
he's encountered a problem that no one else haves.

There must be a solution to the certificat problem.

And that adobe air will not download but bounces back to
first page when trying to.

Might be an installed third party AnitVirus app ?

Or not being logged in with a Windows account that has Administrator rights

He has full controll over anti virus apps
he's into gaming and have " built " his pc

I don't have a clue since I'm on Mac , never had to use a anti virus app
and he is running windows logged in as administrator

all other installations such as cubase, guitarrig, plugins another usb to audio soundcard etc works without any problems

It also could be if you're trying to connect Boss GT-1 to a PC with a USB 3.0 port on your computer

Many USB  3.0 ports on Windows PCs are not compatible with -Roland / Boss gear

Brak(E)man

He's not using the USB 3 ports
only USB 2 ports

If its a desktop that he built - try one of the USB 2.0 ports on the back of the computer ( if available)

often the USB ports located on the front of typical desktop computers are actually running through an internal USB hub built into the motherboard , and that often presents problems for Roland/Boss gear on Windows OS

What is the Motherboard Make / model?

Brak(E)man

The driver works when starting up windows everytime with F8 and disableing the security check for all drivers ( certificate ) so it's not the USB ports.

Thanx I'll give it one last go, it's weird cause people must have done this before.
If it doesn't work I'll buy him a MacBook , it's easier than trying to learn how windows behave.
