The bass guitar tones sound great on the GR 55.Part of why I went for one. Here's a question though.I find that when I play on the 3rd & 4th string that it sounds very thin since it is actually a lead guitar that I'm playing on.Has anyone tried to edit the tones so I we dont loose the depth while going to the higher strings? Please let me know.

Is your GR-55 in "Bass Mode"?
Because a standard guitar is 'out range' in regard to input filtering in the upper registers.
GK sensitivities set equally?

Well I'm using a 6 string electric guitar.Do I need to switch to a 'bass mode' internal switch on the GR 55? Not sure if I came across that but will try to find it.

There is a bit of a trade off for using models, Bass mode has lots more bass models and guitar mode has lots more guitar models.
The guitar mode is filtered to work with the guitar note range, while bass mode is tailored to only use the bass note range.
You will find that using guitar in bass mode, the string range will not go past the 12th fret, and start doing unreliable triggering past the 7th fret.
Same with using a GK-3B equiped bass in guitar mode, nothing much will work below the 12th fret.

In guitar mode there are two bass models, but with some magical trickery, i made a few more model 'simulations', those patches are here

Thanks a lot. Will check on those patches. So overall I guess most folks won't be using bass mode on a regular 6 string lead guitar as it may not work v well, except for the advantage of using more bass patches. Are there more 'guitar' based bass guitar tones (not PCM ) available while using the bass mode?

There aren't any, they are all exclusivly for use on a bass instrument.
The patches are transferable between the two modes, you just have to setup the modeling tones, as the opposite modes modelingsettings are 'hidden' but still within the same patch file.

Hi,
So do you mean if you want to use the COSM modelling of a "normal 6 string guitar" sound, but on a bass guitar, in bass mode, there is a way of transfering that patch (from guitar mode)?  eg: make your bass sound like a clean "strat", while staying in bass mode?

Yes, In Bass mode you get the Les-Paul and Strat guitar models only, but all patch parameters for all the effecets and PCM tones are transferable.
Any modeled tones converted from guitar mode patches (using GR-55FloorBoard editor) can't be exactly copied since there are only the two guitar models available in bass mode, but the user can choose whether to use either bass or guitar models, depending on the intended application of the patch.
