Hi- Still figuring out what setup will be ultimately most convenient and efficient for my longterm keyboard/guitar synth rig.  I've been using mainstage and that is working out ok but I'm debating either picking up a motif rack again or a keyboard.  I do have a nice akai mpk49 as well.

Question though, I discovered the Yamaha MX49 which has type A and B Usb inputs.  This is also a audio/midi interface in it as well.  Plus you have some pretty good onboard sounds for backup too.   Has anybody used one of these and confirmed the FTP works through the type A input?

Thanks,  having some decision overload these days.

Sadly the FTP will not work with the USB port on  Yamaha MX49

QuoteElantric Im not so sure the 'To Host' port in the Yamaha keyboards functions as such. I may be completely wrong, but my keyboardist has a Motif XS8 with the same set of ports, and my Tripleplay did nothing. It may be that we needed to activate the port somehow in a sub menu but im not sure. I believe the port is used to access a usb storage device, not act as a midi port. At least on his Yamaha.
