As Im just at the beginning of building my FTP world I wanted to check about 32 / 64 bit FTP
I have 64 bit Win7 - I know 64 bit allows more efficient use of RAM usage but in terms of using FTP & softsynths are there any particular pro's / cons - I have run them both and even with 4 synths running at the same time I dont see any performance differences

Some VSTi are only in 32-bit mode so... you need some bridge between 32/64. And in opposite some are only in 64 (like Sample Tank 3).

The 64 bit questions are very good ones and I will put it as I understand it. Yes the 64 bit OS will have more memory access and you can run 32 bit applications in a 64 bit OS. The 32 bit programs still will not access more than you first 8 gigs in a 64 bit OS. 64 bit Programs will not work in a 32 bit OS. with that in mind the FTP software host I believe is a 32 bit host that will only host 32 bit VST instruments. The 32 bit apps may work a little better in a 64 bit OS but not by much. I think I read somewhere that FTP Is working on a 64 bit version of their host software but for now there are some 3rd part VST hosts that are 64 bit.

My FTP is very recent and the download came with both a 32 and 64 bit version

Specific details on how to launch the Fishman Tripleplay Control VSTi Host in either 32 or 64 bit mode

Q: I installed my Fishman TriplePlay, but when the software scans my plug-ins, it only looks for 32-bit plug-ins. I use 64-bit. Is there a way to make it see 64-bit plug-ins?

A: TriplePlay has both 32-bit and 64-bit modes. On Windows, there are two versions (one for each mode). On Mac, right-click on the app and choose Get Info (or hit command+I). When the information window opens, uncheck the box labeled "Open in 32 Bit Mode."

FWIW Cantabile supports jbridge natively, so you can run 64 bit plugs and your 32 bit ones simultaneously.

Jbridge is relatively inexpensive and a must have if you are using VST plugins.
