VG99 Amp channel switch how do you setup yours?

Moving back to play with a band unleashed a lot of questions.
So far I have used VG99 @home with Ableton Live.
In the past I used a Fender Amp (now gone..) with separate channels and gains. It was a switch press to have Lead sound with hi gain and clean sound. AMP simulation in VG99 has the solo channel but no separate gain (expect the Gain boost on some frequencies). Today I have CTRL3 that switches the solo channel ON and boosts the gain to distortion.
However that limits the possibility to switch Delay ON and turn Chorus OFF, leaving me with the only solution to setup a patch with A/B channels clean and lead and switch back and forth.
Do you have any other clever way in your experience on stage?

I use an FC300 which is the Roland footpedal designed for the VG99. It has 2 expression pedals, 2 control buttons, with 6 more available from external switches. I have 4 external switches and an extra expression pedal on mine. I am never in need of extra buttons for assigning boost, effects, etc.

Thanks MusicMan65, unfortunately, FC300, which was my 1st choice is too heavy for me to carry around at 5 kg and in Italy where I live it's priced 399 Euros! With 399 Euros I can get GP-10 a Pizza and a Beer for two, or add 25 Euros and at 425 get GP-10 plus GK-3 combo..
From your answer I guess I cannot have a simple switch... I was hoping for some exotic function... better go to MIDI boards. I have a Rolls MIDI Buddy from 1984 that might do the job.. if I only remember ;D  where I put it..

Might not cure your weight problem but pick a decent condition one off eBay and you will save a load of money off a FC300

You could use a Boss Roland EV-5 Expression Pedal PD-7252 and set it as a gain control or use it as an A/B blend, just dupe the A channel to the B channel and add the gain to the B channel. I use one and it works perfectly. I also use the Roland FS-6 for ctrl 3 & 4. much easier than lugging the 300 around.

Thank you, I have exactly that configuration but I use the EV-5 for FV.
The only difference is that instead of a FP-6 I have a couple of these :

They can be locked together to form a solid couple but they lack a Led so I have a question for you:
When you press a pedal, let's say assigned to CTRL3 does the led glows red in FP-6 and goes away when you press it again?

Thank you in advance

I always duplicate the Ctrl 1 & 2 as my ctrl 3 & 4 so when I step on 3 (on the floor) 1 lights up on the VG99. Also note that button 3 in the VG99 editor shows up on B on the FS-6 and button 4 in the editor shows up on A.

Hi Big Jim,

Thanks for answer.
How do you duplicate 1&2 with 3&4?
If the VG99 is stored safely away and not in front of you the FS-6 Leds light up right?

Understood, thank you.
So basically if CTRL 1&2 are assigned the same function as CTRL 3&4 (and this is done manually)
when pressing CTRL 3, CTRL 1 lights up.
