Lately I had to change the cabling for recording in my DAW.
That's how it works:

VG99 Sub / Left    ---> MX802 Mixer Channel 1 ---> Aux1 Out --> FW Audio Card Left Input
VG99 Sub / Right  ---> MX802 Mixer Channel 2 ---> Aux2 Out --> FW Audio Card Right Input

DAW ---> Audio Card Input (L+R) ---> MX802 Mixer Channel 7/8 (Stereo)

With this setup I have full control over DAW volume, I have no latency (hardware monitor through Mixer) and I can balance VG99 vs DAW using an Hardware Mixer. The VG99 is connected via USB to my iMac so I can trigger soft synths and record midi with minimal latency.
All works fine but I got one big doubt:

Let's assume I record only from MX802 Mixer Channel 1 ---> Aux1 Out by turning clockwise only the Aux1 knob on MX802 Mixer Channel 1, The VG99 Patch is a double channel A/B, and so I get a mono source in the DAW. However the VG99 is cabled using both cables L/R so I fear that by doing in this way I record only one channel from VG99, although I hear the two channels playing and after record when I listen to it but maybe I am not recording it in full. (often my A/B VG99 patches have Pan set at 50%).

What do you think?
