Title: FTP - Does Triple Play Work on a Mac Running OS X 10.9 Maverick?
Post by: scratch17 on November 04, 2013, 08:42:56 AM
I did a search here, and checked the FTP site. I didn't find any info. Is anyone using FTP on a Mac with 10.9?

Steven.

It doesn't work, the software just hangs at startup.

I have contacted them about it, waiting for a reply.....

I got a reply from Fishman saying it should work on Mavericks, it just doesn't on mine.

Worked fine before the upgrade.

Works fine on a retina MBP15 and mid-2013 MBA, in GarageBand 10.0.1.

On my Macbook Pro 15 (2013) it hangs on startup every now and then. To me it seems like the driver is getting stuck. It may work if the application is restarted, but sometimes it requires a reboot. I haven't yet seen any crashes once it starts.

Just installed Maverick on my 2008 Macbook Pro.  So far so good.  Although my computer is running a little slower - but that has more to do with my 2GB of memory than the FTP.  Time to upgrade my memory!  ;D

Hi Guys,

Frank from Fishman and myself have worked through it and found the bug, this is in the underlying Juce SDK that they use.

It will be fixed in the next version.

Anyone interested in the details can look here: http://www.juce.com/forum/topic/coreaudio-possible-deadlock-when-moving-mavericks (http://www.juce.com/forum/topic/coreaudio-possible-deadlock-when-moving-mavericks)

Cheers

Andy

Excellent info!

I like Juce BTW, looks like a good resource for C++ Multimedia app development.

Seems popular tool used by all the major music app providers too.

I'm not sure about that.

Commercial systems using Juce are buggy as hell as far as I can see.

Be sure the FTP Controller has been charged at least 4 hours before attempting to "pair" with the receiver.

Contact Fishman FTP support if problems continue

Sorry and thanks sustainiac I thought I removed the post before anyone replied. :) I have it paired now and things are working OK on 10.9. Forgot to read where it said to click on the actual LED on the controller. :o

Yes - that was my "hurdle" too  -as the early FTP docs were vague regarding the actual location of the FTP Controller pairing button.

The first day I never realized the large Red LED on the FTP Controller (on the right in pic below) IS the Paring button. With the FTP DC charger removed, I kept trying to press the small round thing in the middle (see pic below) in error!

Glad to hear you got things starting to work again.

It looks like more then hell. As I wrote FTP under 10.9 works ok. But under 10.9.1 I couldn't close Kontakt 5 plugins or Korg Legacy without crash and error: Crashed Thread:  0  Juce Message Thread  Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread... Korg dosn't work under snow Leopard too but in Kontakt...
