Hi all, I just bought a used FTP  ;D, wandering if I need to buy FTP software license. I plan to use it with iPad only, I may need Fishman's soft for firmware upgrade (I do not know what firmware I have now) and do couple of tests of string sensitivity. Other than that I can not imagine why I would need it. Is that license transferable, so I can ask seller to give me his password on the registration site?
Thanks in advance.

Trevor

I believe it's only needed if you want all the NI sound stuff, which IMO you don't, there's better easier to use Vsti's.The app for string sensitivity/splits and other magic is for all, no reg needed.Once I set sensitivity I've yet to open the app again.

thanks Trevor,
I do not use PC for music since I discovered IOS synths few years back and I found a place for my old iPhone on the pedalboard.

How can I find out firmware version installed on FTP? Also is there a reset process when all is set to factory defaults? I noticed that some patches in hardware mode send notes on 2 channels - was it configured in the Fishman's application?

Trevor

I believe the only way to check firmware and or reset is through the software app, maybe a buddy would let you hook up through their PC, you'll only need it once, maybe twice.

QuoteYou can use TriplePlay hardware without registering our partner software. The partner software gives you lots of built in sounds and options, but the controller can be plugged into any computer and used with any software that allows MIDI input. If you have a favorite Digital Audio Workstation, just plug in TriplePlay and use it to control any of your virtual instruments. If you're impressed with the tracking and the response, our full installation of software will only make the product even better! The string sensitivity and other hardware-only settings can only be done by installing our TriplePlay application, which doesn't require a registration code. Download TriplePlay and set your sensitivities before using it with your DAW by logging in at http://www.fishman.com/support/tripleplay/update.html[/url]

Tried that link but could not register and download Fishman's software as it asks for REGISTRATION CODE. Is there a way to update firmware without buying the license, or to find out what is the version installed?  ???

You need the Control app / it's the only way to update firmware - even if you only want use FTP with iPad or hardware

The FTP Control app beta for FCB-1 is here

You purchased FTP used. Too bad the seller lost  the FTP Activation Code Card

Purchase a new one for $30 here:
