Here's my problem.
I want to control two VG99's with the FC300.
Patch changes work when connecting a midi cable between the two VG's.
But expression control doesn't seem to be send out of the midi out of the main VG to the second VG.
It's like the midi out of the main VG (where the FC300 is connected to) doesn't send
out FC300 controller data.

I only get it to work when i use the RRC cable in the main VG, and an extra midi cable from the FC300 midi out into the midi in of the second VG.
So it seems that controller data from the RRC signal isn't send to the midi out but program change data is?
Anyone an idea?

This is where it get a little tricky. ::)

You have to set up all the patches in the second VG to be controlled by MIDI CC. Unless you could get some sort of RRC hub or splitter but I don't know anything about that.

I have a chart in this thread that tells what MIDI CC each switch and pedal sends out.

Maybe something like this plugged into your FC300 would work -

It's passive, so it should just send everything down both cables.

Sorry I forgot to put the link on my response earlier!  ::)

That Splitter was what I was thinking about the only problem is one cable would have to have the return data block in some way so that the FC-300 is not getting double SYSEX messages and double power. It does receive its power through the cable and this could be a path to disaster if you are not completely sure what wires send what.

I know it sounds like a pain but once you program the patches to respond to both MIDI and SYSEX you got it made. Good Luck!

Here is that link again.

Oh, and since this is more of an FC-300 topic I will be moving it to that forum.

Thanks both of you.
I already anticipated the potential problem with the splitter.
I'm electronically versed so that won't be a problem.
Now to find a pinout on the RRC is another matter.
Power can be measured with an ohm meter but the data signals are more difficult.
I used to have a oscilloscope for such matters but i dont anymore.
If someone has a pinout on the RRC i would be greatfull

The pinout info for RRC2 is in this post, about 3/4 of the way down the page -

Thanks a bunch Mesaman!
Just what i needed

I would advise NOT to use that RJ-45 Splitter - as there is a communication handshake that occurs between the FC-300 and the VG-99, and feeding two VG-99's will create packet collisions.

instead - feed a MIDI Cable from the FC-300 MID Out to the 2nd VG-99.

I only will use the transmit data line from the FC300 to the second VG.
The return signal from the second VG to the FC300 won't be there because i won't let it ;)
