Hi all
Since i've modified the GR55 as shown by Baratijas in this topic
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=4624.0

When i plug my regular guitar in the jack, the volume of the Normal PU on my GODIN Lgxt decreased dramatically.

I have to unplug the jack if i want to recover a normal gain for my PU.

How can i play the two guitars keeping the jack of regular guitar plugged?

Best regards

gumtown

What you are doing is plugging two guitars into the same input.
You will need to unplug the 13pin cable while using the normal input jack.

Thanks for reply Gumtown

I plan to play live with my 13 pin guitar (lgxt) for modeling patches and pu or piezo of the godin   and alternatively a normal guitar in the input jack for using the GR's effects.

I just want not have to plug and unplug my guitars during the performance.

So it"s not possible?

thanks

Maybe install an A/B selector switch to toggle between the two guitar Normal pickups.

Or perhaps use a jack socket with a break switch for the 13 pin input, so the 13 pin normal P.U. is disconnected when the other guitar's lead is plugged in.
Then unplug the guitar lead to restore the godin's normal P.U.

does it mean that whatever i do, the GR's normal guitar input can't maintain the same gain or volume for two guitars plugged?

Yes, unless you were to build in a simple resistive mixer, so the loading effect does not occur so much (buffer outputs have a low impedance).
Maybe a 5~10k ohm resister in series with a normal P.U wire from the 13 pin socket in the GR-55, and another 5~10k ohm resister in series with the active buffer output of the jack input modification, connected together to the common input point.
It might help...

Hi again Gumtown

I think your first solution is the better for my case.

I would install a toggle switch near the GK's input that will permit me  to keep the two guitars plugged ( the 13 pin is so fragile  ;D) and choose which guitar will use the "normal pu input" keeping the right gain.

Can you help me about which brand and model of toggle will suit and schematic based on Baratijas's mod will be welcome  ;)

Thank you very much
