Hi, I was wondering now that the new GP-10 from Boss is on the market. Myself I own a GR-55 and as my friends warned me, to programme patches of your own you'll have to put some time in it and so it is. I am happy with my GR-55 but started to wonder. Some friends I have still stick to their VG-99 although they have the more recent product. Since I don't know so much, I would like to ask some recommendation on other guitar modelling equipment or units that make you happy. Just interested in what is on the market. Thanks very much for your answer ;-)

Morning Ronnie; I'm a bit new to all this so I don't have first hand recommendations to give you but when I put "modeler" in as a search term many pages of links showed up. Many of the major ones, Roland in particular, have their own heading in the forum index. Happy hunting!
Drachen; Fender FTP Strat w/internal GK-3, Godin xtSA w/FTP, Boss GP-10, VoiceLive 3, Scarlett 18i8, ZBox IQ01, On-Lap 1502i, D:fine 4088, 4E Dual Axis Exp Pedal, VoiceSolo FX-150, Yamaha DXR 10, Gem. M2 Flute, Special 20 Harmonicas. Fender Deluxe Reverb Mahogany Cane.

All known Guitar Modelling systems have dedicated areas here on our forum. Suggest browse and read and Google and wiki for unfamiliar terms.

Do we already have a chart with all the Roland models in one overview? This would help folks decide which unit to get. I cannot speak for all the units, but together we should be able to give a quick overview and particularly list the biggest advantages and disadvantages of each unit.

All must read the COSM Reference Library thread with all details on Guitar modeling

Someone could review all owners manuals and create a Guitar Modeler spreadsheet.

Although to me a question like this is rather like joining the Ford Mustang Owners forum and then asking "Where can I find the discussions about automobiles?

All info on Guitar Modelling gear - with real user posts listing the pluses and pitfalls of each type is already here at VGuitar forums.

In determining which unit is "best" There is more to this than simply comparing the numbers of instruments types offered by each unit.

At this hour the Boss GP-10 sounds the best to me,

but someone else might prefer the Tyler Variax,

while others prefer the VG-99.

while others prefer the GR-55.

Then there are the new emerging Guitar Modeling units  - like the  Anatares Floorboard
