Hi so am getting sorted with my vg 99 rig, have now got a computer solely dedicated to the vg... And I've got the complete patch data base on the computer and I've been going through them and some are really really cool... Here's the problem I bring up the patch in the vg 99 editor and all is well... I then try to save the patch to my vg, but once saved to a preset it sounds all different

What am I doing wrong?..

Cheers once again!

I hope soon I'll be able to be knowledgable enough to help others ... But just the last few hurdles and then I'm off

As an aside I've now got the next 4 weeks with gigs every weekend so can really (hopefully) tune the vg for live work... I'll post videos when I get the chance!

Cheers

First thing I did was do the firmware update and the editor was downloaded from the Roland web and is the latest!

might be data corruption at the USB port type - avoid using a USB 3.0 port

  - its MUCH preferred to use a USB 2.0 port to connect Roland gear.

On the VG-99, and the user to user shared patches for download here at VGuitarforums, Be sure you understand the process of "IMPORTING SMF FILES" on the VG-99 Editor

I've run into this before on the GR-55 & on the VG-99.  I think the driver sometimes gets confused after encountering certain basic issues (like trying to write a patch without the proper device selected/cable connected).  Once you make a goof like that, it seems to screw up patch writes.  The most common symptom is that the title changes & the patch does not...

To fix, simply reboot and be very careful with device selection & physical cabling before attempting to write patches.

This may be a unique-to-PC issue.  (Most fix-by-reboot issues are!)

Also be sure to close down all other apps when the VG-99 Editor or VG-99 Librarian is running.
