This question is for the midi/electronic wizards amongst you. :)

Could a Peavey Sanpera midi foot controller - meant to work with the Vypyr amps - be modified (if needed) to be used with the GR-55?
That'd be very cool as it seems pretty well build and fairly cheap.  8)

I've found an old post in another forum...

QuoteThe pedal should work on its own if you supply the power. I have a rig in the lab with a little breakout box that has the 8-pin connector, two 5-pin connectors for hooking to the PC (in and out), and a power input for, well, power. A +9 vdc supply at 500 mA would be sufficient. (300 mA could work, but 500 mA would be safer.)

The switches (including toe switches) and pedals always send the same command, and the LEDs respond to commands from the amp - all independent of mode, etc.

If you're looking for a cheap and sturdy midi floor board I suggest Behringer FCB1010 coupled with an UNO chip. Its very powerful and quite open.

Nice find, paults. ;)

Thanks MCK but I'm thinking smaller "add-on" that could be powered via midi by the GR-55, not a full-blown pedalboard. :)

P.S: Paul, these are generic values, though, not Sanpera specific, correct?

Re the data post. It is as it says
All the lines with the 90 and the noteon/off comment are note messages on midi channel 1
The lines with B0 are continuos controllers on midi channel 1

Sorry, I must have read your mind (or subliminally filed away) your other post regarding this that I just now noticed. So consider this post a validation of your own thoughts.  ;D

Thanks, MM. :)
So, if I understand correctly, only the continuous controller messages sent by the Sanpera footpedal are usable with the GR-55, the note ON/OFF not being assignable on the latter.  :(

Old post, but a smart MIDI RE-INTERPRETER box ( BomeBox) could convert the MIDI Note on/off data from Sanpera into MIDI CC# (0,127) Data which the GR-55 could use

Or a clever programming person with a Raspberry pi and a USB MIDI adapter
