Ancient thread - but wanted to mention there are a few opportunities in the used / refurbished channel for 12.1" netbook size powerhouse windows laptop computers with intel i7 CPU and take 16GB ram and have SSD drive

This one is a highlight from 2014 (used to be $980) - often available now (2016) for $450-$550

Interesting laptop, sad it seems to gets too hot, according to the review and some comments.
i had an expensive Dell laptop which was very hot after a few minutes of normal use and was very unpleasant while simply Typing. Something to take in consideration.
