OK,I'm not crazy, ( not yet ) maybe I'm old and fool, but I report what i notice last night.
Some days ago I notice for some patches, ( MARTIN D something 6/12 ) a significant hiss and ground loop come out from headphones.
turn off all gears in my little studio, move GR in all directions, put a filtered socket and so on.
nothing happens. rumors are still present.
So I don't know where did i receive this illumination light, but anyway, I'll connect my Gr55 to a sanyo pedaljuice, capable of 9V 7,2 Ah and a current of 2A more or less.
i recently buy two of kind for my pedal to eliminate noisy green switching p.s. and for my simple pedalboard is very OK, eliminate ground loops, and current noises.
whoa ! what  a silence...
so i use it ever also live and into my studio. with a consumption of 700ma battery duration is approx 3 hrs of normal use.
I've found  some offers from   musical instrumens online stores for about 45 euros instead of 110 euros normally priced, so i bought it immediatly.
EDIT... Elantric, sorry for post into wrong section, maybe Roland GR-55 Examples is more indicate.... you may move it if you like to.
Nothing is impossible,if someone else will do for you.

your not crazy... yet  ;D. I have to plug the USB into the computer to get rid of the hum/hiss but this is a function of house wiring than the unit itself.

I've been talking about the benefits of "no hum" Battery power here

In USA we can order PowerAdd PilotPro 32000Ah Universal battery pack  - this can power the GR-55

- these were used by Steve Vai in Rio on his pedal board last week

32A?  :o wow!
this unit is remarkable.
but my little pedaljuice is sufficient for more than 3 hrs, yesterday I'm able to play for almost 2,5 hrs
and battery just before disconnect power after session, was approx to 40% of residual charge.
with a current draw of 700MA i should not need an atomic central :)
@ Elantric, sorry again for wrong posting, i realize quickly my mistake and i wrote immediately.
but only after "post button" hit.
Nothing is impossible,if someone else will do for you.

Hey! I can't run GR-55 with this battery. I have it now, but it doesn't start. I tried to run some laptops with different voltages and it's fine, but not GR-55, nothing is going on when I press power. Do you use any converter for that?

Must use the voltage polarity inverter adapter -

Already mentioned in the original thread

1 ) Visual Sound CYR Converter for One Spot Power Supply with Reverse Polarity - to make the 2.1mm coax DC jack negative tip.

I've been searching for the optimal mix of portability, tone and simplicity for a battery-powered busking rig. Recently I purchased a Nyne Adventure bluetooth speaker and am using its USB charging feature to power the GR-55 and a looper pedal via a Birdcord (https://www.songbirdfx.com/products/birdcord/). No external power supply other than the Nyne. Seems to work pretty well and the tone is half decent. The Nyne is about half the size of my Roland Cube street so much more portable, although without the mic input. The Nyne cost ~$50 from Musicians Friend Stupid Deal of the Day and the Birdcord was ~$20.

Newbie here!  I just found this thread 7 years late. Actually, I've never had a reason for pondering a battery powered GR55 until I moved to an area where jazz and strange music is not well known...lol!

So I put together a busking rig and mothballed my normal gear. Here is what I've been using:

1992 American Strat w/ GK3 pu
Godin nylon Multiac SA
Washburn J6 archtop (primary busking guitar)
ROLAND STREET CUBE EX
VOX STOMP
PEDALBOARD POWERED BY VOLTO.

This all works great but  I really miss using my GR55 live....but, thanks to you geniuses, I can now include it with my busking gear...

The only thing I will use the PowerAdd PilotPro 32000Ah Universal battery pack for is the GR55. I probably will only bring that, the Roland, the street cube ex, one of  my SA guitars.

I am soooo psyched beyond belief. I first looked at lithium generators...then car/boat batteries (lots of people using these) with a converter. Then I found this thread. But why carryall the extra weight?

Special nod to ELANTRIC.
Fender American Strat 1992 w/GK3
Godin Nylon Multiac SA
Washburn J6 archtop
Taylor 510 Dreadnaught
Taylor  K24ce
Roland GR55
Boss SY-1
And a whole lot of stuff!

Glad you are bringing music to the masses !

I own 5 poweradd pilot pros, and after telling Thomas Nordegg, even Steve Vai uses them at fast set up /tear down shows -he uses one dedicated to his noisy/high current draw Whammy DT.
