How do i assign the patch like this: normal pick vol.  up controlled by vol knob on guitar(gc1 strat) the model controlled by gk vol switch on strat and strings patch vol controlled by the exp pedal? I have been having a really frustrating time trying to enable the normal pup ........i go to edit highlight normal pup switch the select switch on the strat and turn up the vol ...nothing    then i turn up the gk vol and it controls them both. If i switch the foot pedal it cancels out the guitar sounds ....im confused by this and im tempted to sell it .....this will be the second one i owned and sold . Its not broken i think im doing something wrong ...arg!

I tried what you are proposing from the buttons on the GR55 and it didn't work right. Then I did the same thing from Gumtowns floorboard editor and had it working right away.

In the Floorboard editor:

Normal Pickup > Tone sw > turn on, routing as you see fit.
Modelling > Tone sw > turn on, adjust to what you want.
Synth 1 > Tone sw > turn on, change to what you want.

Click on System > Select > System pedal and GK

Exp pedal > Tone volume. Make sure to select PCM1 and/or PCM2.
GK Volume > Tone volume. Select Modelling.

I will try that but my computer is down and i cant access the editor or the one from gumtown which are both downloaded on my broken computer   thanl(
