Hello. I'm a new member to this forum and I wasn't sure how to search for an answer to this question. Even trying to google an answer for this has been difficult. So Im lucky I found this forum because I'm sure its been asked before and a solution has been found hopefully.

Is there some sort of extra hardware that can be used to utilize all the amp modeling and effects of the Roland GR55 since it doesn't have a guitar input ?
I know with the GK pickup, you can route the guitars output into the GK and the 13pin cable splits the signal into the GR55 and then you can send the guitar out of the unit into the amp and be able to use all the models/effects..

well with a synth ready guitar, it doesn't seem like I have that option.

I did run into a video of a guy who designs a box that seems to do what i want it to do, but the guy stopped making stuff in 2015

Excuse my ignorance as I am a total noob to the guitar synth world.
Can anybody help?

by the way.. I have a Godin LGXT

szilard

The LGXT has a 13 pin out that you can use with a GR-55. There are 2 1/4 phone jacks and a 13 pin jack.

Not sure what you mean

Just use one Gk 13 pin cable from LGXT to GR-55 GK Input and you get everything (Piezo hex PU's, Normal Mag PUs) - no other cables required

basically the LGXT matches the features and signal routing of the Roland GK PU's

The LGXT normal mag PU's are Buffered by an internal Opamp and fed to pin #7 on the GK cable to the GR-55

for a Normal 1/4" guitar input Some modify the GR-55 directly

Thanks for your reply, admsustainiac

Like I said Im a noob and I really didnt know what I was asking.

I guess I assumed that if I wasnt able to route my guitars magnetic pickups into a GK pickup, then I wasnt going to be able to use my magnetic pick ups at all with the gr55

but if the 13 pin cable allows everything in one chord, then awesome! no problems at all

Thank you very much for the clarification.

Some synth ready guitars don't route the magnetics to the GK  board.  Parker did this because they claimed they had crosstalk issues when trying to bring the magnetics into the board.  I recently purchased a Roland ready DF824 with that exact wiring.  I was able to go in and connect it the way it was intended and it works just fine.  I'm not sure what problems they had,  but for me it works great.

Your Godin should work just fine...
