Several users have asked for tsl files that have the Sneaky Amps in them.
For those of you who are having issues with drivers or the 3rd party software, here is a Boss Tone Studio compatible liveset.

It's a combination of all Sneaky Amps and separate entries with their BRIGHT setting enabled. Which makes a total of 30.

Download the Sneaky Amps (Blank) liveset:
katana-dev/docs: SneakyAmpsBlank.zip

Instructions included How To use the Sneaky Amps liveset

The only Sneaky Amp that is excluded is the CUSTOM amp.
This one is nice to try out when you have access to all the extra settings it comes with.
If you want to test it, have a look at the 3rd party software.

Have fun creating new tones!

hi,all. i'm a newbie and looking for some help getting the sneaky amps
i just downloaded the file to use with boss tone studio, do i need something to open the tsl files? if so, any recommendations?
any help will be greatly appreciated! ;D

Beanow

First you unzip, then from Boss Tone Studio you need to press the import button and select the TSL file.

Check the rest of the tips here too https://github.com/katana-dev/docs/blob/master/how-to/use-28-amp-types.md#sneaky-amps-liveset

However IMHO you obtain more Editing options by skipping BTS and using using Gumtown's Katana FX Floorboard Editor instead
Its the only method to create a preset with 5 active FX, access the Custom Amp or  TeraEcho FX

Hi Guys, new to the forum. Just some info from Roland Australia regarding Sneaky Amps and 3rd party software.
I sent them an email the other day and they responded (quite quickly) just thought I'd share and get your opinions.
He went on in a later email to say that the GT100 is Cosm Technology and not compatible with Katana.

Hi Michael,

There are "hidden" amps in the Katana, but they are not designed for the Katana and won't always operate correctly possibly causing issues with your amp. They are based on old COSM technology whereas the amp models built into the Katana use our modern Tube Logic technology. Using the "hidden" amps on the Katana will void warranty as they are not supposed to be used with the Katana and have been unlocked by a 3rd party source rather than Boss themselves. You're definitely better off using the patches available from Tone Central as they will work well and cover a large variety of tones!

When plugging your Katana in to the computer and getting the gain level right, it's best to play around and get the balance right. Typically when recording a gain-heavy amp model directly into the computer, I like to use a lower gain lead sound and boost it using a blues driver or something similar (BOOSTER EFFECT – GREEN LIGHT on standard Katana set up) to get an adequate amount of crunch. Distortion will almost always come across as being fizzy when plugged into a computer and overdriven too much.

Kind Regards,

Interesting, as the "Sneaky Amps" are not being "unlocked", they are always there, you can even access them with a modified patch file using Tone Studio.

I have never heard of one single instance of the Katana firmware being crashed either.

Debatable on the void warranty too, as the Firmware is not being hacked, the 3rd party software uses the open midi structure made available by the USB/midi port via public Boss documentation.
That is like saying if you use a D.A.W. with your Katana via USB, then its warranty is void too.

Yeah, I thought it a bit weird too, as you can also use sneaky amps via Tone Studio as well can't you? so how would that void warranty ??

They can't actually be selected in Tone Studio, you only have the 5 preamp options,
but loading a patch file with a Sneaky Amp selected instead of one of the 5 will enable the sneaky amp (until you move the amp selector knob and will revert back to the native 5)

So you can't just call them up from a Live set ? Like the first poster said ??

You need this file to load in the Boss Tone Studio for Katana to "see" the sneaky amps

But I prefer to skip Boss Tone Studio and use the more advanced Gumtown Katana Editor to access all sneaky amps, and arrange Katana internal FX in any order ( not possible with BTS for Katana)

I've downloaded the Sneakyamps tsl file and imported it into to Tone Studio, but it only shows 15 amps. Is this something to do with the fact that my amp's a mkII?

Joefus

Where's the second file? There's only one in the zip folder.

I see it was mentioned in this old thread that people have used Linux to interface with the Katana.  I have tried using AVLinux and KXstudio, but could not do it.  I have had much success using other drivers and editors with Linux and wine,  but this one has eluded me.  I have the latest firmware in my Katana.

What did I miss on using Linux and Tone Studio?

Linux Mint 17 here and I was never able to get it running or connected. I used to use a virtual windows machine to connect to Tone Studio, but that was less than ideal. My recommendation, if you can find an Android device, is Katana Librarian. It does everything that Tone Studio can and then some. Well worth the paid version.

Good luck!

Have you tried the Linux version of Katana FxFloorBoard editor?

I did, I couldn't get my Katana to connect to it on Linux though. Some sort of a dependency issue I think. Oddly enough, I did get the GT-1 version of FxFloorboard working with my GT-1...
