New Boss Tone Studio for SY300 version 1.10
http://www.boss.info/support/by_product/sy-300/updates_drivers/350622

Now there is a new Boss Tone Studio   "Offline Mode"  - for reviewing patch settings without the actual SY-300 hardware being present and connected!

BBach

I have found that patches that utilize the internal wave function to vary a parameter cause the program to lock up if edited while the wave is changing. Maybe it's just certain parameters (usually cutoff or resonance, have'nt experimented enough yet). Has anyone else noticed this ?  This is occurring in the non-updated version. Maybe the update will fix this, but it wasn't mentioned in the corrected issues on the download page.

I have had it lock up on editing, but not enough to figure out what the problem is.

All Boss Tone Studio for Windows download links have been removed while Roland /Boss sort out why recent MS Windows update/Adobe AIR updates present a conflict for the BTS Installer

If you already have HYS installed ,please DO NOT REMOVE IT .

I might take a few months for Roland/Boss to deliver a fix

Meanwhile ,use Gumtown's Floorboard Editor for your device (Katana,GP-10,GT-100,GT-001)

To all those having problems installing tone studio on windows 10: Set your date back (a year will do) and then run the install - this will get it installed and then you can change the date back to the correct date - All Good!
I believe it is probably something like a code signing certificate has expired (or similar) - changing the date gets around whatever check it is performing during the install. Enjoy!

This worked on my Win 7 machine. I haven't hooked up my SY300 yet but I am pretty happy!

BTS saves your patches on your computer, even when you uninstall the app. Does anyone know where this data is svaed on your HDD? I am hoping to backup my patches to the cloud, to make sharing and transfer between computers easy.

Thanks!

Never mind! I found the files. On my PC, they were in

AppData/Roaming/

This will save me some time and fuss.

My first contribution to this forum. When the download instructions say copy exe  to your drive. It means your C: drive root directory. Normally I run exe files from my documents folder to keep my C drive clean. But nooooo ,  the editor wouldn't find my sy300 even though reaper found it no problem.  I screwed around for over 2 hours until I got a little smart and put it on the root. Then it found it like a dog finds a milkbone. Just sayin...

The *.exe file is the Tone Studio editor installer, and should not worry about where it launches from to install the editor, as the editor installs and runs from the Program Files folder.
The connection issue you first had would have been the USB driver software not downloaded and installed (separate from the editor software), most likely you are running Windows 10, and it would have recognized the SY-300 USB connection and automatically downloaded and installed the USB driver.

Lots of SY-300 resources here to dig into, and plenty of SY-300 users to help with any questions.
