I just bought a used VG-88 as a test while I save for a VG-99.  I've had a VG-8 in the past and never could get a satisfactory guitar sound through a powered monitor or PA.

So I got the VG-88 and plugged into the effects insert of my Peavey Delta Blues 115 tube combo.  I am pleasantly surprised!  It seems that the 15" speaker, combined with the tube power amp, sounds really convincing.

Good to hear that it works. It must work, the price isn't low :)

I use this combo, VG99 = delta blues 1x15, and with my old vg8; then added a CHEAP 4 X 10...OUCH!

The Delta Blues 115 is a great amp. I almost bought one when they first got released, but I was short of cash and ended up buying an Alesis Quadraverb Plus to beef up my Peavey Pacer.
To V or not to V: That is the question.

I'm a former owner of a Peavey Delta Blues 15 too.

Nice amp, I added a "sag mod" (insert a 220 ohm 10 watt sand resistor on the B+ Voltage feed) , that made it a bit swampier , more "tube rectifier" type compression.

Sold it to the other guitar player in my band 12 years ago.
