Wow! I'm really shocked that they are still doing updates for the Gt 100. Must not be a newer one coming for a while.

I'm actually shocked too.  I wonder if an A-B comparison could be made across the patches from the previous version that someone might notice.

Just found the new GT-100 version 2.1 USB drivers posted on the Boss site too.
Update the firmware first before trying to load in the new USB drivers,
or else during the USB driver install you will get the message "gt-100 not found".

Thanks for the heads-up!
I will update the firmware soon, as I currently have the 2.03 version.

I was able to download the 2.10 firmware and update my GT-100, but I still don't see the 2.1 USB driver on the site.  Where is it?

I am looking at: www.boss.info/us/support/by_product/gt-100/updates_drivers/

I am currently running Version 2.03. Everything seems to be running fine. Do I need to update to the latest firmware update? I don't want to break what is working. Thanks  :)

It is not an essential update, the firmware update process is quite fool-proof these days too (on modern equipment with a separate boot loader like recent Boss/Roland gear).
It is useful for recording and re-amping where the sampling rate can be up to 96kHz.

I would suspect eventually an update will be required as future drivers for newer operating system will use the latest firmware driver.
The old (current) driver is not compatible with the latest firmware.

Dear all,
I upgrade my Boss Gt 100 from 2.03 to 2.10 system version. I update to support the other sampling rate other than 44.1khz.
The upgrade was ok, but I cannot install driver 2.1 on my Windows 7 Sp1 64bit.
When I plug the gt-100 the driver installation fail due to Unsigned Driver reason. Seems that Roland/Boss fogot to sign the driver in tha package.
I have 2 pc with Win7 64bit and both make the same issue.

With an old netbook with Windows 7 32bit works without problem.
I use f8 at pc startup and start windows without driver signature enforcement and the Gt100 works, but this cannot be the final solution...
Any suggestions?
Thanks in advice

Forgive me for still not fully understanding what this means in laymen terms. Does this mean, as you say, that they are still producing these, but a specific component internally is different now than in the original GT100, and is not compatible with the previous firmware. If this is the case, if we have an older unit, should we not use this new firmware update? The wording in the update notes are very vague as to what specific purpose this update serves. Usually they will state " various bug fixes" or "adds a new amp", or "improved encoder response" etc.. What component did they change, was it a chip, or encoder or something?

And this? Does this mean something about the number itself didn't jive with previous versions. Or is there a new division manager at Roland and he didn't like the old number.

It does say something about a new Driver 2.1. Is the firmware update suppose to make it compatible with the new driver, and if so, what is the purpose of all this on a 10 year old unit that has had several new variations released in recent years and weeks. Contrary to what Jack Nicholson says, "I can handle the truth"  ;)
