I remember an story in GP i think in the 70-80s about Larry Coryell and
a fretless ovation acoustic
Does anyone remember this story ??
he was driving his statonwagon to pick up some guitars from ovation
and one of them being a fretless.

I think he had the same station wagon as me a Pontiac Safari

Dec 1974 issue he was on cover....

You gotta wear the white leisure suit when driving that thing, LOL! A quick image search shows him playing lots of axes, several Ovations, but nothing fretless. *We miss you, Larry!*

I took some lessons from Larry when he would come through Chicago.
He taught me about triads with altered bass notes.
He was a great guy.
This was 1971 or 1972.
