Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but having waited a while for this I thought it would be worth starting a new topic. The new GR-55 driver for OSX 10.8 is available on the Roland US website - http://www.rolandus.com/products/details/1148/477I haven't tried it yet as I've got to go out. If you do manage to try it please can you post if it worked OK

Thanks

Thanks to everyone who was watching for the arrival of this driver.
I installed it in my system (version 10.8.1).

- The Roland Librarian (version 1.00) worked fine in a small test case (reading four patches)

- The FloorBoard didn't work:
  - Version 20120724 did not see the GR-55 as a valid MIDI device
  - Version 20120809 (Beta) gave this error message:
    Library not loaded: /Library/Frameworks/Jackmp.framework/Versions/A/Jackmp
    Referenced from: /Applications/Roland/*/GR-55FloorBoard.app/Contents/MacOS/GR-55FloorBoard
    Reason: image not found

Take this with a grain of salt, of course. The problem could be between chair and keyboard.

Well I just downloaded it, but haven't had the chance to try it out yet.  Oddly enough, I wasn't aware I needed it, I've been using the Librarian with Mountain Lion fairly regularly with no issues.  Is it more for recording?

I don't have access to Mountain Lion, but have uploaded a revised mac version (20120907) to try, with the Jack Midi framework removed.
Give it a try and let know if it's an improvement.

Hi
I have the same problem...

i have described it on this thread:
https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=2951.825

(I have an imac with 10.8.1)
Today, i installed the brand new version of FB, the 20120907.

It doesn't crashes...but doesn't works...

When Floorboard requires data from GR-55 there is this error:

In the FB preferences i chose the GR-55 midi in and out.

The usb cable and gr-55 usb port are ok (the gr-55 librarian works perfectly).
I have installed the Roland drivers for osx 10.8 also.

Do you have some advices for me?
Thanks, thanks, thanks!!!
bye

Unfortunately not yet working,
to still get an error.

this is the error that appears this time:

When the program starts, makes me select the GR-55 as a MIDI device,
then after that it gave me the error, if I go into the menu of the MIDI device (in floorboard), the gr-55 (and all other device) disappear.
and continues to give me that error ...

thanks again...
and bye

I've now had a chance to install the new driver on a MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion and everything appears to be working fine. I did manage to get Floorboard (Version 20111011) to crash once but I had forgotten to have Mainstage open at the same time. Once I had done that - problem solved.

Under Mac OS version 10.8.2 with Floorboard version 20120908 with Roland GR-55 driver version GR55_USBDriver108:

- I can select the GR-55 in the Floorboard editor's MIDI preferences once
- Connection is not completed (error creating OS-X MIDI client object)

After I quit the Floorboard editor and re-started it, I could no longer select the GR-55 (or any other MIDI device).

Just more data grist for the mill.

A new link for the mountain lion osx 10.8 driver, since Roland have changed their website
rolandus GR-55 page

The most recent beta version of GR-55FloorBoard for mac-64 should work with this driver now too.
