Hello all.  Thanks for welcoming me.  A bit about me...I'm a guitar teacher in Ottawa.  I've always liked Roland, Boss and Cakewalk gear.  A few years ago I tried forming a hard-rock band with keyboards.  But keyboardists around here are incredibly hard to get, especially if you don't play indie-folk, electronica, jazz or classical.  After awhile it became clear that if I wanted an orchestrated sound in a heavy rock band, I would have to do it myself.

After researching guitar synths, I decided to take the plunge and get a GR-55.  It was easily one of the smartest purchases I've ever made.  Now that I'm in a group that has a keyboardist, I still use the GR-55 for effects, alternate tunings and for the occasional acoustic guitar riff.

I found this site to be a great source of information for any tech question.
