GR-55 -Godin Multiac SA volume control sliders for pickup and synth sound

I'm a newbie here, so bear with me if this is a really stupid question:
I used to have a Roland GR-20, and was able to use the Godin volume sliders like they should: Upper slider for pickup volume and lower slider for synth volume.
With the GR-55, I cant seem to get this. I take any patch, activate «Normal pickup», and sure enough, I can hear the pickup. But only when synth slider is on. Bring that down, and pickup sound is gone.
I've read a number of posts on this forum, and I know that I can plug the guitar jack into amp or PA for the original Godin sound. But I want to add some delay using the GR-55, so thats why I want this solution. Any help appreciated.

UPDATE: Turning the Pedal/Vol/GKVol off, the synth siider has no effect on the pickup level. But I'm still stuck as to be able to control pickup and synth volume with the respective Godin volume sliders.
