Hi everyone this is Sean in Ann Arbor, MI. I just got a GR-55 (Merry Christmas to me) and am now learning to use it. My initial approach is to set up each User patch bank with three voicings that I typically switch between during a song (e.g. the rock rhythm guitar and flute on Wild Thing).

One question as I get started: What is the best way to ensure relatively similar volume levels across patches? I want to avoid major volume changes when I use the pedalboard to change patches. So far I'm trying to save different +/- dB adjustment via the EQ in each patch, but I'm wondering if there isn't some more universal volume leveler. Any tips on this matter?

external compressor was my solution. by ear before a show using the EZ Edit button before that

Patch Level parameter,
each patch has a master Level setting, the hard part is to set the level required,
as it usually needs to be set in an environment which it will be used (like at a band rehearsal with all other instruments mixed in).
Free "GR-55 FloorBoard" editor software from https://sourceforge.net/projects/grfloorboard/

* Fast method to reset the patch level

use the EZ edit to set overall patch volumes, then 'write them into memory' ...so that switching between patches keeps the same levels.
