This is my COSM only experiment playing bass and mandolin together on a "GR-tar" at the same time.

SETTINGS

  • Alternate tuning is used on the Master settings.
  • Heavy EQ to accentuate the split ranges.
  • MFX uses the compressor.
  • CTL is set to toggle a 1 second tape delay.
  • Chorus in stereo, deep and slow is used.
  • Reverb Hall 1 is used.
CONTROLS

  • GK-Knob - Delay Level
  • CTL F/Sw - Delay ON/OFF
  • EXP OFF - Patch Volume
  • EXP ON - Pitch shift +12
This patch gives you an easy 1-4-5 bass space with G and C on the two strings detuned for bass, and a mandolin pitch and tuning on the high four strings. To use for pedal dominant bass notes, you can chord like this in G:

    GCGADe
=   ======
G - 0x0023
C - x00233
D - x22002

You can use it with a slow G and D fingerpicked chord change, pop the bass note occasionally, for a "Goin' to California" vibe. Maybe Brown Eyed Girl. And, never forget, it's not really sleep apnia...Mama wears a squeezebox, Daddy never sleeps at night.
