Thanks, Gumtown.  Under Yosemite (10.10.5) that version gives the following message:

GR-55FloorBoard cannot be opened because of a problem.   Check with the developer to make sure GR-55FloorBoard works with this version of OS X. You may need to reinstall the application. Be sure to install any available updates for the application and OS X.

mervholden

Sorry to say but I also get same message with OS X El Capitan (version 10.11.6)

P.S. Many thanks for your efforts and ongoing development

I am not sure what you mean by this?
Nothing has been removed, and there is no special setting for Fender GC1 guitars.

The "INIT PATCHES" tab (below "Connect and Write") has disappeared in the new version.
But, the latest version does not work.
Anyway, thanks for your work and your time.

Hi gumtown,
After many hours of removing and installing I'm now on Ubuntu 16.04 64bit. I had a moment of success with my first upgrade to 16.04 and actually brought up the gui and thought i might have it but after logging out I lost all privileges for everything. Many more hours of trying to fix the buggy install I started over and feel I finally might have a more stable version of linux with crouton xenial. I ran the ldd command from the gr55floorboard folder for dependences . 1 file was not found which was libmng. I tried to install it but it said it was obsolete and recommended libmng2, which I installed. program still wont load however I did get a glimpse of the startup screen once for about a second. I've had a lot of problems with all versions of linux on the chromebook mostly due to permissions and policy agent. I'm wondering if that could be my underlying issue here but I don't know enough about linux to troubleshoot further. Any ideas?......thanks for all your help

Sorry about the recent issues with the latest builds of the GR-55FloorBoard editor,
everything runs fine on my machine,
but it is also the development environment with all the needed library files needed to run the application.
So I have tried a different approach, and cross-compiled the editor from it's native Qt5 framework to X-Code.

I have uploaded one to try, it seems a lot smaller in file size, so I am not too optimistic on it running,
but if someone could try this mac version and let me know if it runs

No luck with you're new version for Mac - don't understand why it would be so small compared to previous versions either?
Anyway i've attached the error report in case it gives any clues:-

gumtown

OK.... I think it is sorted this time,
I installed a second Sierra operating system, without the build environment and libraries, just a blank new vanilla sierra.
I quickly found the problem and fixed it,
and a new mac 64 update is posted, this should run from OS X 10.8 to 10.12

Hello !
This is my first post here and I want to say a big THANK YOU to gumtown for this editor !!
I am on MacOS 10.12.3. I did not actually edit a patch yet, but looking at how it looks it seems to work.
I bought a brand new GR-55 yesterday in a shop here in Paris, France.

Gumtown, many thanks for all your efforts and the new Mac version.

The ASSIGN 6 problem detailed in this post  (https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=2951.msg123235#msg123235)  is still present under Yosemite.  It may appear to be resolved because the bug doesn't occur for all parameters.

Hope this is helpful, Colin.

Hello, I'm hoping that someone can help me out with this issue. I am kind of a linux newb but recently got into ubuntu studio and ardour and find it's pretty powerful. I have my gr-55 loading in windows fine but I am having some trouble in linux. Can someone give me instructions on how to proceed. I extracted the Floorboard tar.gz to my desktop and when I click on the GR-55Floorboard icon in extracted folder nothing happens. I don't know if I missed a step sorry if this is a repeat question I browsed a few pages back and couldn't find anything. Thanks for any insight!

Hi,
Do you have the correct version for your operating system (32bit vs 64bit)?

Also try running from the terminal in the same directory/folder as the GR-55FloorBoard editor executable,
type the command
ldd GR-55FloorBoard
and it will display the dependency libraries which are present or missing.

I am running 64bit ubuntu studio 16.10 and I downloaded the GR-55FloorBoard_linux-64.tar.gz file from sourceforge. It extracted fine but I don't see any sort of file extension on the program itself. Thanks for the quick response!

Any advice is appreciated I tried searching the missing libraries and did something like

sudo ln -s /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libpng12.so.0 /usr/lib64/libpng12.so.0

for each library that was missing and I'm still getting nowhere? I am not a linux expert but can usually find my way around through google.

Hey Gumtown -
I downloaded the latest floorboard editor this morning 4/6/17. It's been so long since I've used the GR-55 and the last editor which I had working just fine...but after downloading the new version I plugged the GR in and my machine needed the drivers again -DLed them and tried to use the editor. I have forgotten how to set up default folder and the midi prefs. I'm on Win7 64bit. USB to PC. Can you point me to a post that you have described the procedure to connect. I haven't been here for quite some time and forget everything I once knew about how to find and make the editor and GR-55 connect. Have the PDF help file but no joy. Can you please help me get it reconnected?

Thanks,
Mark

Hey_Joe

I finally got the editor to connect to the GR-55. Messed with the preferences in the USB/midi section. I think using the deBUG Mode button helped it connect and read the patches from the unit. Don't know for sure but all is well except that the EXIT button and the screen size in the top right don't work. Can't remember if they worked in the last version but Exit under the File menu shuts it down and I don't need the screen size to be adjusted.
So never mind my first post requesting help. Thanks so much for creating the editor and for the continued work on improvement.

Thanks,
Mark

I made this version with a forced window box size,
so it is missing the maximise and exit tab on the window box corner as a side effect.
I thought that, and a few extra hi-res mode font sizing commands might fix the oversize fonts issue... but alas   :(

Another update of the windows version, trying to get it right ....
now at version 20170409
fixed the midi device selection of the GR-55, the "auto GR-55 device select"  didn't do as it should, but now does..

Also trying so extra code to limit the font sizing on 4K hi res monitors, I hope it works, I don't have a 4K display.

Thanks for the hard work!

I couldn't get my GR55 to connect in Sierra, came here, eventually got to the latest version and HOORAY!!!!

I really, really wouldn't want to have to program it without the editor, so a million thanks, and a second donation from me.

Long live Gumtown and VGuitarForums!!!!

yes, from the preferences menu 'window", select either 'auto scale' or a fixed ratio size,
then hit OK.
then close the editor and restart it.

it should now be the new size.

Great job, gumtown! Gonna test this tomorrow, when I have my hands on a GR-55...

Hey, just a quick question though: I had a sort of a hard time installing it on my Linux, because the executable points to some version-specific libraries (like "libjasper.so.1") instead of the generic ones (like "libjasper.so"), so I had to create a few symlinks for it to work fine. Wouldn't it be better to just use the generic libraries? Or did you try it and ended up having issues with the generic ones?

Thanks a lot for the application, it looks pretty slick! (Will hear how it sounds tomorrow.)

Cheers!

Those are the generic libraries used under Ubuntu 15.04, I didn't really have much control over that, from using the Qt5 framework.

Hello gumtown.  I just got a GR-55 (I used a GR-33 for many years) and found your application.  It works really well on Kubuntu 16.04 64.  I was wondering where I can find the latest source code.  I found and downloaded an older version of the source and built it and it ran fine but it wasn't the latest.  I looked in to the source code - very nice.  Clean and easily readable (look Ma, no tabs).  Thanks for a really useful application.
