How does the direct monitor and playback work when recording etc ?
How do you control the balance etc ?
I can't find any reference in the manual or the net

I play Country music too, I'm just not sure which country it's from...

I just got a Itrack dock and the sound is good but
The direct monitoring seems to be in mono.
For live use that's def a bummer ifso
The manual doesn't touch that subject.

Anyone else  ?

IIRC the direct monitor basically straps whatever's at the input Jack to the output Jack bypassing ipad

To clarify
From GP-10 L&R > Itrack dock L&R in direct monitor > headphones = mono
From GP-10 L&R > Itrack dock L&R in Flux:Fx > headphones = stereo
Both through & FX

From focusrite
So no stereo in direct monitor mode.
The latency is not an issue though

QuoteThe direct monitoring feature will sum and equally distribute inputs 1 and 2 to both left and right outputs. While sending the direct signal to both outputs, it will also allow stereo software output. This cannot be modified.

For the software output, the iTrack Dock is seen on the iOS device as a interface with two outputs. As to whether or not the signal is stereo or mono will depend upon the application utilized. One way to think of it is software output 1 goes to the left output of software output 2 to the right on the iTrack Dock. If needing the software output to be mono, it would require configuring the application to not apply stereo processing and equally distribute channels to output 1 and 2.

Ah - that's a bit rubbish. Never used the direct monitor on mine.

I'm guessing you're using FX only out of the ipad then.

I would if I could
I have to go through the Flux:Fx with the direct signal instead of using 100% fx

So is it the round trip latency of iPad that you're trying to bypass?

It's very slight but I totally agree it's noticeable. That said, if there's a way to get Flux running with AUM then AUM has an HQ mode which - bizarrely - isn't about HQ but shutting of unwanted processes in iPad and giving lowest possible latency. I think it's in the online documentation

Yes I'm trying to bypass that , it's not so much the latency, it's very slight but unnecessary,
the sound changes a bit though
Also when adding GP-10 and SY-300 etc. all builds up.

Flux seems to work more flawless inside GarageBand less clicks etc

All that aside , there should be a way to modify the Itrack dock , so it doesn't sum input 1&2 but sends it to left and right output

I asked focusrite for a circuit schematic but they said no.
And
QuoteUnfortunately we only distribute schematics to authorised service centres and we don't support modifications to our products.
