it is not perfect but if your GK settings are good and you don't get too far away from the original notes you won't have a problem. I am not saying you won't have any trouble but it will be 80% better.

I don't know the structure of the gp10 so I'm kind of shooting in the dark here.  I read somewhere that placing a noise suppressor after the Reverb effect can create digital artifacts.

Do the wobble still occur with a dry alternate tuning signal where the signal does not pass through any of the DSP effects?

I always have the ns before fv , delay and reverb if I am using ns.
and I haven't tried dry alt tuning , I'll try it and cut everything from the chain

I've tried all settings possible , same stink, but works with the VGs.
and it's only sustained chords , single notes octave up or down are fine.

I almost bought another GP today but I think I'll wait.

Definitely put NS before reverb and delay. The NS is like an automatic volume pedal pusher.  When it sees the loudness meter go below a certain level, it stomps the volume all the way off.

The Threshold lets you choose that certain level.
The Release affects how quickly it lowers the imaginary volume pedal down to zero.

The artifacts you hear, at least the ones caused by NS, are happening because the reverb or delay is getting quieter, quieter, quieter as it dies away, but the NS only sees that as the loudness going down, then back up again, then down some more, etc.

So it may sound digital, but I think you'd get the same sound with any NS that's after your reverbs, digital or no.

Brak(E)man,
You could borrow my GP-10 a couple of days and see if it's related to your particular unit. We could meet halfways (Väse).

But I got more gear than I need...and I like it!

I don't see where you have posted a problem patch.

Post your worst, I'll give it a try.

I will in a few days.

feeling stupid haven't thought of that because it's more or less the same with all of the alt tuned patches when sustaining chords.

A couple of times it seems like the problem is there and then gone and back again , I can't pin down the cause of the problem. Unless its my playing  ???

The other day when I plugged in my G-707 with a 24-13 box for the first time and the alt tuning problem was there , I felt beat and almost gave up.

Well, here's what I've found:

1) Even with a well setup mag hex pickup, the warblies still can occur on the GP-10 for alt tunings, or the fifths tuned 12-string. Not really bad, but bad enough such that letting chord tails ring can be problem, also many harmonics.
2) Even the vaunted Atares ATG-1 has warblies on harmonics. For chord tails, it does pretty darned good, however. I think you'd like it with mag hex pickups. (With piezos, it doesn't sound as good, even when setup for piezos.)

The only problem with the ATG-1 (besides size) is you can't setup a "user" tuning (that I could find.) You'd have to send the ATG-1 output into the 1/4" input of the GP-10.

I have recordings of the Vgs tuned in FI 12 string fifths used with a sustainer in normal , dual and fifths mode ,  no warbles.

That used to be be my favorite "pads" , but not with the GP

This type of playing with this tuning
and this guitar with or without sustainer
has never been a problem before city the vgs
and the trig on the osc synth agh !!!

As I told you, I have the same issue but much more pronounced. I'll post a MP3 asap.

I don't suppose it would make any difference but have you tried different GK leads? If nothing else it eliminates an admittedly unlikely culprit!

I have 10-15 different ones including 4 from Codesmart.

Hi again.
First time I try to record with the GP-10 (I'm not used to it).
Maybe I'm just dumb but I only get a sound very low. I am searching through my settings.
Will post asap.

Had no trouble with VG99.

topido

Okay, this is my first try. I took the nylonConcert I got right here and applied a -1 step alt-tune.
It's more than a warble. Only on E string and A string.

Smash

Ew....not good

Are you running through USB audio? Sounds like a buffering thing!

Brak(E)man

Horrible

This is something that Boss should have addressed way way back.
It's really a disgrace that they haven't
Instead of trying to make new stuff
Boss might consider focus on fixing issues with current gear

My Monitors are plugged into my GP-10.
For the recording I used USB audio but I have it even when I'm not connected...

Maybe I did something wrong with my GK-3 (I'm thinking  it may be too fair from the strings) but why would I only have it with the alt-tune?
Disturbing.

Brak(E)man

I never paid much attention to the distance etc on my GKs with all the VGs.
Nor the other settings.
Never a problem, the GP-10 is a disaster when it comes to Alt tune.
I don't know what boss did to dumb down this function but they should try to fix it.
It's way overdue. I recorded my example 2014 , not many back then thought it to be
the GP but something else. Guitars, setting up the GK etc etc.

I dunno - here were my findings based on the patches posted in this thread - you tell me:

Nylon:

Steel:

Guitar:  Jackson Soloist SL2 Pro with GK3 pickup.  String gauge .009s D'Addario NYXL .09-.046.
The guitar has carbon fiber rods in the neck to keep the neck stable - it does have a trem but I didn't really use it.

I would play some chords then press the various button assigns for pitch transpose.  Then I'd try to hold chords longer and longer.  Especially on nylon string.

Any other patches anyone wants me to try?

I'm starting to think that we'll not find an answer.
One thing is certain though.
The same guitars , the same tunings work with
Vg8-88&99 so it must be the GP-10 unit that's flawed in some way.

Forgot to clarify: patches used were AltTuneLiveSet.tsl and AltTune.tsl for those demos.

Remember, neckthru guitar with carbon fiber reinforcement.

Are any of you using bolt on neck guitars?  I guess we should do a little survey:

Guitar brand, model, type neck attachment, tremelo or no, built in GK2A, add-on GK3 or built in hexa piezo?
Guitar with GK cable direct to GP-10 or any kind of splitter in the middle like a US-20 or something?
What GK cable?  Roland or aftermarket produced type?

There has to be a common denominator.

Even my G707 gets warbles , and that has that stabilizer that's suposed to help midi tracking
( at least back in the day when it came out )
