I've been playing around with the relatively new Beatbuddy drum machine pedal.  It's nice as a grab and go unit for situations where a live drummer can't make it to the gig or for jamming and rehearsal, but it has limitations as a full song sequencer (e.g., one tap to play the whole song).  I'm also trying to learn how to add bass parts to the drums but it involves quite a bit of set up and programming with midi within the technical constraints of the Beatbuddy.  In the quest for the perfect performance-ready backing track player solution I found this little gem: http://www.rolandus.com/products/mobile_studio_canvas/

I think this unit has been discussed in various threads here before.  Seems to play nicely with the GR-55.

Of course, the GR-55 can also be used to play audio .wav and AIFF format files but it'd also be nice to have a compatible midi file player like the SD-50.

Anyone have experience with the SD-50 and its integration with the GR-55?
