Hi,

I recently got a Boss BR 800 8 track recorder used from a friend. The problem I'm facing is that most of the preset distorted Guitar effects patches are really noisy and I have to use the Noise Suppressor at a setting of 85 to reduce the noise. This kind of kills the patch sustain with the guitar cutting off on held notes too soon and takes the fun out of playing the patches.

I've tried using different guitar cables to connect my guitar to the Hi-Z input but it didn't help. The noise level is just too high without using the NS at between 75 to 85 depending on the patch.

Has anyone else faced this problem with the BR 800 and if so what's the solution? Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Digitech GSP 1101 and the NS on that doesn't need to be put to more than 30 or 35. Same with the GR 55 which I have. Only the Boss BR 800 is creating this issue for me.

Cheers
Prash
