Has anybody replaced one of these? Do you know if it's this specific part  http://www.fullcompass.com/product/376360.html  (Roland 13129715
Roland Foot Switch). It looks like these are the same switches that are used in all of Roland's foot controllers/guitar synth pedals. I'm looking at a GR-30 that has a bad one and I'm just wondering whether it's worth the hassle (I know I don't want to take it to a "authorized Roland service center - they'll jack me for way more than the thing is worth)?

Have you tried spraying some deoxit or Kontakt spray in the faulty switch? That often fixes trouble with switches...

Or Kontakt: https://www.vguitarforums.com/smf/index.php?topic=7005.0

No, I didn't actually have the unit - I was considering buying it from Ebay, but didn't want to get stuck with something that was unfixable (it's an old box but it looks like those switches are still available) it has since sold so, no longer an issue... :(  I'm well aquianted with De-Oxit as I have a studio with lots of patchbays, etc... Thanks for the reply

Elantric,
Thanks very much for that! Any ideas on whether these things are available anywhere? FWIW it's a different part # than the original one I linked to (That's a Full Compass part #).

But i expect Roland to charge you $10

But frankly I would hesitate firing up the soldering iron - and instead use Caig De-oxit and apply to all mechanical switches, rotary switches,  pots, switching 1/4" jacks, etc. and  after application of De-Oxit, then exercise each  - with rapid movement that promotes knocking off oxidation contamination from all mechanical electrical contacts in the unit. Unless the unit has faulty electrolytic power supply capacitors ( very likely with older gear),  The "DeOxit" procedure described above typically "cures" most noise / static/ intermittent operation problems with older electronic gear.
