Is there anyone out there with some experience with Apogee Due for iPad?  I'm looking for comments on sound quality, but also use with iOS devices.

I follow Elantric's "experiments" with audio interfaces for iOS pretty closely and it seems that the Duet is one of the only ones not really covered.  I believe he has said he feels he can get similar sound quality out if the much less expensive equipment (Focusirite Scarlett series), but I have the opportunity to pick up a used unit of the current version of the Duet for iPad pretty cheap.  It gets good reviews for sound, but I have seen comments that it is having problems with the current version of OSX and that the firmware is an issue.

I don't want to get this jut because it's a deal.  I'm considering a new Scarlett series for much less or an Apollo Twin for more, but potentially less headaches.   Thanks for the input.

Not covered by me due to lack of access to one (I only test USB Class Compliant  Audio interfaces I find on sale at my local Goodwill store ;)

But search on google will reveal owners experience with Apogee interfaces

I recal one hurdle were reports that the "MIDI USB HOST PORT"  on Apogee interfaces was not compatible with Fishman Tripleplay USB Receiver. But I have no direct experience -so those report s of incompatible MIDI over USB Input might have been pilot error.

Thanks for the quick response!  I've done quite a bit of searching on the site, but I actually thought there might be more users of the Duet.  Depending how cheap I can get it used I might just take a shot at it and see how it works.

Thanks for the reminder about the models.  I did confirm that it was the iPad/iOS version.  Hoping to get the breakout box as well.
